Chapter 10

-Maliki's POV-

I chuckled as Oscar fretted over the sheets we had destroyed in our last round of lovemaking. His face was flushed with embarrassment as he eyed up the tears he had made with his claws, I found it both amusing and adorable. Walking over to him I pulled him against my chest nuzzling into his hair. 

"We can always get new sheets" I spoke softly smiling as Oscar let out a frustrated whine. 

"That's not the point though it'll cost you a fortune if we keep destroying the sheets" Oscar groaned leaning against me exasperated. 

"Don't worry about it, even though I find you adorable when your flustered" I chuckled wincing as Oscar pinched my side. 

"I thought we had a family meal to get to," Oscar asked putting the issue of the sheets behind him. 

"I suppose we do, you get to meet my brothers Cassius and Killian and my sister Luna" I replied listing the names of my siblings so Oscar knew their names. 

"Do they have mates too" Oscar questioned as I led him towards the door. Opening it we got into the hallway and started walking towards the dining room. 

"So far only Cassius that I know of. His mate's name is Zella, he found her around 100 years ago" I answered truthfully. 

"100 years, how long do vampires normally live," Oscar asked as his hand gripped mine tighter. 

"I'm not sure, maybe forever but you never know" I responded unsure my self. 

My last answer had us in a comfortable silence as we continued on our way to the dining room. I was buzzing at the seems to tell my family that Oscar was with child and so soon too. Normally Vampires don't have children until at least fifty years after meeting. I'm positive it is because Oscar is half wolf. Stepping up to the kitchen doors Alphonse opened them for us and I spotted my family already seated. I guess we were a little late. oops. 

"Brother so nice of you to finally join us" Killian snickered his red eyes glinting with amusement as we reached the table where I pulled out a chair for Oscar. 

"You were late to Killian so, don't start" Luna chastised running a hand through her jet black hair as her violet eyes looked at us warmly.

"Ignore those to they're just excited to meet your mate" Cassius chuckled his blonde hair falling into his red eyes as he did so. 

"Now that everyone's all here why don't we eat" My mother suggested as I took my place next to Oscar. 

We started eating in silence at my mother's request but I could see the questions swimming in my brothers and sisters eyes about Oscar. They could tell he was a hybrid and they were curious. I was also positive my mother already knew about Oscar being pregnant with the looks she kept shooting us. I could also tell that Oscar was nervous being in a room with this many power full vampires, I knew this because his knife and fork were being frosted the tighter he gripped them. I would need to teach him how to control his gift soon. 

"It's okay Oscar" I whispered in his ear and rubbing his thigh. 

I felt him relax slightly though a quiet whimper escaped him as the conversation picked up again. 

"Maliki, you have an announcement to make" My mother spoke with a smile on her face, I disliked when she did that cause it put you on the spot, her mind-reading ability was sometimes troublesome. 

"Yes we do, we would like to inform you all that Oscar is pregnant" I announced chuckling as each of my sibling's expressions held a different level of surprise. 

"How is that possible" Killian asked his mouth hanging open. 

"You'll catch flies like that, you should close your mouth" Luna teased giggling as Killian glared at her though he closed his mouth anyway. 

"The reason it's possible is that I am an omega and even male omegas can get pregnant it's a survival strategy if conditions aren't favourable" Oscar explained professionally as if he was giving a presentation. 

"That's amazing" Cassius exclaimed smiling widely at us no doubt also trying to put Oscar at ease. 

"So do you know when you'll be due," Luna asked taking a vivid interest in Oscar's biology. I knew this was coming. My sister likes rare and exotic things. 

"In about six months from what I've observed of werewolf pregnancies," Oscar replied his green eyes flashing to the gold and red of his wolf. 

"Wow look at your eyes they're so beautiful" Zella spoke up for the first time her bright blue eyes staring directly at Oscar. 

"Now children, you shouldn't gawk at someone just because they're different" My father reprimanded earning a small smile from Oscar. 

I was happy that both he and my mother were present as they could stop just about any fight or argument before it happened. 

"Yes, father" They all replied in unison their heads dipping down in defeat. 

I knew the action was recognised as Oscar's wolf as a sign of submission and I noticed Oscar become slightly more comfortable knowing my father could take control of the situation when he needed to.

"My eyes changed when my vampire side was awakened," Oscar said breaking the silence answering Zella's silent question. 

"You mean you didn't know you were half-vampire until you met Maliki" Cassius exclaimed his eyebrows shooting into his hair. 

"I had a feeling I was different because my alpha always seemed to say I had to much spunk to just be an omega" Oscar mused tapping on his chin in thought before his eyes drooped as he remembered his pack. 

"May we be excused, mother?" I asked knowing that Oscar was about to have a panic attack and I wanted to try and prevent it.

"Yes, you may" She acknowledged and waved us away as I picked up Oscar bridal style as he started to let out whines and whimpers. 

My heart broke for him every time he would have a panic attack or nightmare. I wanted to chase away his demons and leave behind his happiness. As we got back to our room I stripped Oscar of so he could shift. He often shifted cause his wolf offered protection from the outside world. 

"No one will ever hurt you while I'm around" I vowed as I stroked between his ears sighing in content as his whines turned to grumbles. 

"I love you" Oscar spoke into my mind and I think he wasn't aware of it as he just sagged against me and fell asleep. 

I was too stunned to say it back but I did love him. I love him more than anything in the world. I feel complete when he is with me. I dare anyone to try and hurt him, they will burn with the fire of my gift.
