JUNGKOOK'S POV
"Hats off to you, Jungkook. I can't believe you were able to see through Mr. Choi's intention. I'm older than you but he almost got me there. If it weren't for you, I would have given in to his deceitful plans. Do you have telepathy or something?" Namjoon praised me for exposing Mr. Choi's evil business plans.
I loosened my tie and unbutton the upper part of my polo. Meeting with Mr. Choi was very stressful. He sure was one cunning businessman. Good thing, I was prepared for him.
"Telepathy, crap. You know me, hyung. Experience honed me to become the best businessman I could be. You just have to be observant with his words and actions. Plus, I did a thorough background research about him. As they say, you always have to be prepared for battle."
Growing up from a business-minded family, my dad has trained me to read people's expressions: from the pitch of their voices, their manner of speaking, the stability of their breathing, the way their eyes flicker, the movement of their bodies and from the words they choose to say. Every detail is important. He also taught me to research and plan things ahead. A well-thought of plan, as he said, would never go wrong. Hence, I believe that as long as I plan things properly, I can make things happen.
"Yeah right. Experience also honed you to be as cocky as you are. But I'd give credit to you for being impressive. Being able to analyze someone's thoughts sure is a good skill. I bet you can read everyone's expressions, no matter who they are." Namjoon teased me.
It was true, though. Having this skill made me overconfident. However, he was wrong with one thing.
"Not everyone, hyung. There's someone who I can't read completely."
"Who?"
"Kim Seokjin."
After Sarang told me about Seokjin, I got curious. I hired a private detective to know his background. Once I saw his picture, I was mesmerized. He was truly ethereal. I can't take my eyes off him. So, I wasted no time to see him lunch break yesterday.
When I saw him in person, I lost my shit. The picture did not give justice to him. His beauty was out of this world. Is he even human? For the first time, I lost my cool as a businessman and I did something embarrassing. I was entranced, like some witch put me into a love spell.
As we conversed, I tried to read his expression but I couldn't. Or maybe, I was just so whipped that I lost my skill or my logic.
"What about him?"
"He's a mystery, hyung, a mystery I want to unravel. And that's what makes him so attractive. At times, I finally thought I am able to read him; but when I look into his eyes, a wide variety of emotions run through it. Like how can you be happy and sad at the same time?"
"Wow, that's deep."
"It sure is. I suddenly want to eat some cupcakes." That's so random; but yes, I suddenly want to see him.
"Eat some cupcakes or some Seokjin?"
I chuckled at Namjoon's question. Well, eating Seokjin can wait. He's a challenge and I need a good strategic plan in order to get him.
***
I found myself in front of Seokjin's apartment. I went to the café and his assistant told me he was on sick leave. I managed to lure his assistant to side with me. Putting on my gentleman facade, I told him that I was sincerely interested in Seokjin. Of course, his assistant cheered on me saying that Seokjin deserved to be happy with me.
So here I am, I bought dinner: rice porridge, chicken soup, samgyeopsal, bulgogi and others. I also bought a gel pack, the blue gel pack which can be used as an instant hot compress or cold compress when you placed it either in a microwave or refrigerator. He might need it as he was sick.
