AUTHOR'S POV
"Kim Seon-Ho?"
Rubbing his eyes, Jin could not believe he was seeing the man who was responsible for his way of thinking.
The man may have shown signs of aging as his skin now has wrinkles. However, his features were still quite similar, maybe only a little difference brought by years.
Upon seeing the man, words rushed into Jin's mind, like an angry river during a heavy rain.
We will never be happy.
Our lives are destined to be tragic.
You are born to ruin perfect moments.
Jin stood there, glued on the ground. He was gathering all his courage. Despite the horror, he was fully aware that he should never let this pass.
This was an opportunity. This could be the time that they could settle issues. Maybe, this would also help him relieve some of the chaos in his mind.
"Yes, I am.. and you are?" The man seemed to be unsure. He seemed to have an idea but he needed affirmation from the other person. Years have already passed and there sure were a few changes in Jin's features. Jin was only twelve years old when they parted ways.
"Seokjin. Kim Seokjin, son of Kim Tae Hee and your son."

Trigger Warning: Mention of death of loved one
The soothing melody of Bossa Nova was not enough to calm the tense atmosphere between the two men as they were sitting in a classy coffee shop inside the airport.
Neither of them has spoken any word, attention focused on stirring the café americano they have ordered. The color of the coffee was dark, as dark as the past they had. The strength of the caffeine, together with painful memories, was enough to cause heart palpitations, even if they have not taken a sip from the homogeneous solution.
It would take a great amount of courage and humility to say the first word.
"How is your mother?"
That simple question increased the already crazy palpitations of Jin's heart. Memories flashed like snapping pictures from an old vintage camera.
He remembered that day clearly. His mother, lying helpless on the run-down mattress, looked at him with weakened eyes. Her skin was pale with visible wrinkles showing an evidence of stress and overwork. She was extremely tired. The number of breaths she had decreased by the minute.
I'm sorry I have to leave you. I'm sorry I can't be with you for long.
Eomma, please. Please don't die. Please fight it. Fight with me.
It's time. Be strong, my child.
This is all because of appa's fault. If he did not come into our lives, we would have been okay. We were not rich before but at least, we were okay. He only came to give us pain.
Don't say that. Please don't hate him.
Why? He hurt us, physically and emotionally. The physical pain was bearable but the emotional pain got into you. It was not the work that made you weak. It was the depression caused by him.
He was just a victim of circumstances, my child. We are all victims of circumstances.
What do you mean?
Promise me. Don't hate him. Pro—
