Chapter 18. Conversation

AUTHOR'S POV

It took a while for Jungkook to drag Jin out of the grocery store. He had insisted of helping the old lady. And this act of kindness from Jin strengthen Jungkook's attraction to him.

It also took a lot of effort to convince Jin to have lunch with him. Jin was anxious. Considering that they are wearing the same clothes, he could feel the heavy stares of spectators.

"Jungkook, people are staring at us." He whispered tensely.

"Of course, they would. We are like a cute couple who wear matching clothes. I bet they are so envious right now." Jungkook proudly smirked.

Jin slapped Jungkook's arm. "Jungkook!"

He flinched at the sudden act. "You sure love to slap me. I should charge you for this. For every slap, one kiss... make it one French kiss!"

Jin lifted his hand to the air, but stopped when Jungkook was licking his lips with excitement.

"Shameless flirt!" Jin said in frustration.

Cute. Jungkook giggled.

So, here they are, in a food park near the supermarket. Eomuk, Bungeo-ppang, Ttekbookki, roasted sweet potato, fish cake skweres, jokbal, jajangmyeon and other street foods were placed on their table. Jungkook's eyes widened with the quantity of food Jin ordered. On the other hand, Jin was eager to taste these mouth-watering dishes.

"For a small body, you sure have a huge appetite." Jungkook was astonished.

"You forced me into this. So, pay the price." Jin sneered.

"Money is not an issue for me, Jin. You know that. Go, ahead. Eat all you want."

In just a split of a second, Jin keenly stuffed random food on his mouth. His cheeks bloated. His lips pouted while munching the food.

Adorable. Jungkook can't help but be amused with the sight in front of him.

Jin noticed that Jungkook was just staring at him. Even if his mouth was full, he mumbled, "Why are you not eating? You said you were hungry."

"What I want is not on the table."

"What do you want to eat?"

Y-O-U. Jungkook mouthed each letter which made Jin flushed. He chuckled at the reaction. "Chill. I'm just teasing you."

Sigh. Jin nervously savored the food. Without a doubt, he can feel Jungkook's effect on him.

For a while, they were so busy relishing the food that they became quiet. This silence was broken by Jungkook.

"How are you Jin?"

"A lot better... I think."

For one month, Jin was able to relax. Was he completely healed? No. He knew that the problem was not just a simple heartbreak. It was a mindset that became a habit. And habits are hard to break.

"Mind if I ask who or what hurt you so bad?"

Taehyung. Jungkook has always wanted to ask about the guy. As reported by his private investigator, he discovered that Taehyung was a doctor in the US. However, he was not sure if Taehyung was the sole reason for Jin's breakdown that night.

"I'm sorry... " Jin's voice faltered, "...but I'm not ready to share."

"It's okay. We'll talk about it next time. I mean, we're officially business partners. And I'm officially courting you anyway." Jungkook reassured him. He showed a wide bunny smile.
