We are drinking our drink in silence and I decide to break our silence, "So, how's your work?" I asked Aiden.
"I have a really important meeting on Monday and just like you, I am here partying." I chuckled and replied, "That shows how chill I am."
"But unlike you, I'll go home soon and begin to work on it, I am just here to fresh my mind." He mocked. I gasped and replied, "Okay topper, I believe in enjoying my life."
"And stop being practical." He added. I clicked my tongue and replied, "Life is too short. You have to be yourself and enjoy it to the utmost."
"But never forget to be ready for the upcoming problem."
"Yes Sir." I said saluting and feeling tipsy. I narrowed my eyes at him and gave him a childish smile and giggle. He looked at me playfully and I said, "Your eyes surely are captivating."
"You are surely sober."
"Maybe." I said and stumbled and fell on his chest.
"You are drunk, Jessica." Hadith said, smirking at me.
"Maybe.." I said putting my index finger on my chin.
"Guys, she can't even handle a few drinks." Sighed Lucy.
"Yeah.. we can see that." John said.
"I'll drop her off." Aiden offered.
"Nah.. Don't bother. I'll go with the love of my life Katie." I said holding my hands to her.
"My love~" The drunk Katie laughed and hugged me.
"They both have lost it." Sighed John.
"I'll take both of these idiots. You boys enjoy . Bye." Luck said, pulling me and Katie away, separating me from my love.
"No.." I fake cried so did Katie and Lucy glared at us followed by a laughter from the boys. and took us with her.
"Both of you are coming to my place." She announced and took us with her. Before we could protest, we were out of the club. Instead of dropping us she took us with her and here we are, at her place.
I giggled and plopped myself on the sofa. I remained like that and a sudden feeling of heartbreak filled my heart as I began to say,
"Only if you can understand that you are my redemption and my devastation."
"DEEP!" Shouted Katie.
"Keep it down, we are not your enormous mansion, we are at my apartment." Lucy said, taking a sip of water from the glass.
"When I don't love you, why do I seek in your absence?" I said again.
"AGAIN DEEP!" Shouted Katie.
"STOP IT!" Scold Lucy.
"Okay last one." I said.
"Just how one meaningless eye contact is cherished deeply by me." I said as a tear rolled on my cheek.
"By the way, what makes you talk that deep?" Asked Lucky with a smirk."Life." I replied.
"DEEP!" Katie shouted.
"SHUSH!" Lucy said exasperated and continued, "It was a mistake to take you guy here."
"Toast to the heartbroken, huh? Where is the drink?" I said as my eyes felt heavy. Lucy stood up and took Katie to the spare room before saying, "Either sleep here or come to the room, the bed is big enough for you two.""No.. I want to be here." I whined.
"Fine then stay here." She said and took Katie to a spare room in her apartment leaving me all alone in the lounge.
She turned off the light not before giving me a pillow and blanket and telling me, "If you feel scared alone, come to mine or Katie's room, okay?" I just hummed in response and let the darkness consume me, falling deeper in the abyss.

It's Monday and I woke up early in the morning just to wish good luck to Aiden. Why are you doing this? It's been two hours since my first class. I woke up at 7 and my class starts at 9 and the distance from my home to my university is about an hour so I decided to call him before leaving.
I got ready and got my stuff and called Aiden,
"Hey. Did I disturb you?" I asked.
"No, I was just about to leave for work."
"Oh, I just want to wish you luck for your meeting. Good Luck."
"Thanks. I am amazed you remember it even being drunk." He said. Every conversation I shared with you is embedded into my core.
"Heehee. Okay bye, I am also leaving for my university." I said.
"Okay, bye." He cut the call and I sighed and went.
After a few days, I called Aiden and just said 'hi' to him.
'Urgh! Why are you doing this? It won't pull you close to him.' My mind scolded me.
'But, it will surely give me serenity.' I actually replied to myself. Wow! Just how crazy I am becoming?
"Hey.." I said sheepishly.
"Hi.." He said coughing.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"You know how easily I get sick.." He said faintly.
"I am coming." I said.
"You don't have to." He said but I cut the call and rushed to his place. I stopped my car outside at his mansion as a tear released from my eyes. Please.. stop tormenting me like this.. A stream of tears flowed from my eyes as I was lost in my agony. Even if I try my best to push myself away from him, it's so hard that I am breaking slowly and painfully. Just what is my fault that I have to go through this upheaval? All because I love someone? I put my hand over my mouth to muffle my cries. Don't drive me insane, I can't bear it anymore. Please let a miracle happen and push me away from him. I swallowed the lump in my throat and wiped my tears. I looked in the mirror and made myself look presentable so it doesn't seem like I have cried.
I went out and walked inside and saw Aunt Amber looking worried.
"Hello Aunt, how are you and Aiden.. is he okay?" I asked hesitantly. She passed me a smile and kissed my forehead, "Oh my Sweetie, what a great friend you are. He'll be so happy to be here for him." She said sincerely. I passed her a faint smile.
"Go and meet him.. I'll send something for you guys."
'No, No, I don't need anything. I am just here to meet Aiden."
"Oh, I see. Okay." She said as I went to Aiden's room and knocked, "Come in" His weak voice came which made me feel bad. I walked in and passed him a faint smile, "How are you feeling?" I asked.
"Fine.. but why are you here? You shouldn't have." he said sitting up. I rushed to his side and rubbed his back.
"I am here just to see you. If you don't like it, I'll leave." I said looking down. He held my arm and gave it a gentle squeeze and passed me a reassuring smile, "Thanks for coming." A blush crept upon my cheek as I immediately took a step back and tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"Aiden.. do you need something?" I asked.
"Can you massage my head? It hurts a lot." I flushed and gave him a tentative nod. My heart skipped a beat when I sat on the bed and he put his head on my laps. It may be nothing but plain friendship to you but to me it's a fascinating treasure. It's eliciting those emotions in me which I am trying to deny from the bottom of my heart. I swallowed hard and put my hand over his forehead and began to massage his head. I stared at his aesthetically pleasing features and smiled.
A fluttering happiness built inside and at the same time an overwhelming feeling of heartbreak breaks my tranquility.
My lips formed a thin line as I began to run my hands in his soft locks. When I was assured he had slept, I put his head aside and stood up.
No being able to bear this affliction I brought upon myself anymore. I walked out of his room and went back home.
