Aiden POV:-

I was sitting in my office,  deep in thoughts. But then father came looking all too blithe which caused me to raise an eyebrow at him. I gave him a questioning look; he just came to me and engulfed me in a hug.

"Congratulations Son. James agreed for marriage, we are going out for dinner to celebrate!" I stood there stunned, thinking what I had heard was right or wrong. Am I dreaming? Did she actually agree to marry me? Father pulled away as I stood motionless. I blinked and exhaled as I relaxed my tensed shoulder and asked vaguely,

"You…  sure?" he grinned and nodded. A few gasps escaped my lips as I came back to my senses and hugged Father again tightly. I began to exclaim my joy, I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I felt so exhilarated, I felt like the whole paradise was on my side. I don't know how but tears brimmed in my eyes. I pulled away and wiped my tears. Father gave my shoulder a gentle squeeze and began to say,

"I can see how much she meant to you. Take great care of her."

"I will father." I said happily.

Father then told me the time of the dinner and left. After he left I leaned back on my chair and took a deep breath with my smile not leaving me. She agreed.

Wait a minute! SHE AGREED?! She is the one who told me that she cannot marry me and now agreed? What made her change her mind? Should I talk to her? Like,  I am not complaining but how can she accept to marry me, she spent years to forget me and now she wants it. Maybe she couldn't hide her feelings? But,  no matter what, I am very happy.

***
I looked at my reflection in the mirror and straightened my tie as I button my jacket. I wore a grey three buttoned suit jacket along with a brown tie and cufflinks. I combed my hair perfectly backward and felt dissatisfied with my looks. Should I trim my beard? No, I should have thought about it before, Now I am ready.  It's okay.

We entered the hotel and saw Jessica with her family. When my eyes fell upon her, I felt all the things around me cease to exist. She was looking so angelic. A sweet smile spread upon her lips, she wore a white shirt along with a peach colored long skirt with a on her left side, showing her delicate legs. She looked so attractive and the matching jewellery made her more alluring. She greeted my parents and I greeted hers and then we both looked at each other. Her emerald eyes bore into mine as she passed me a faint smile and greeted in her melodious voice, "Good Evening." I smiled and opened my mouth to reply but she took a step back and turned without even bothering to listen to my reply. What? I shook my head and did not want to get this little thing to get my heart. We all sat down and began to eat, the dinner was full of the sound of chatter and sweetness. I felt content to see this but even in all this love and happiness, Jessica was quiet. No,  she was quiet with me. She is talking to everyone with smiles and love but to me,  she is not even talking to me? What's wrong with her?

The rest of the dinner went quite well, except the fact Jessica didn't even acknowledge my existence.

1 Month Later:-

A sigh of frustration escaped my lips as I pulled my hairs. A wave of distress washed over me and I couldn't even think straight, all that was on my mind is why she is not talking to me. Even if Jessica agreed to marry me, why is she not talking to me? When she agrees to marry me then why she is pushing herself away from me.  We are getting bound in an eternal sacred bond but that woman is not even paying attention to me. Why would she agree if she doesn't want to?

"AIDEN COME!" mother called me as I grit my teeth and walked out of the room. Today,  we are going to their place to decide the date of our marriage. Jessica does all the things happily but when it comes to spending time with me or talking to me she turns icy cold.
