I miss those days

Mariella opened the door. The reception room was beautiful. On my right side was the big window and under the window desk with a computer and some notebooks. In the middle was a coffee table and around it a few armchairs and a sofa. There was a vase of fresh tulips on the coffee table. On the left stood a large white piano. There were bookshelves next to the piano. Curtains were blocking sunlight, but Mariella pulled back the curtains and as soon as she did that, sunlight would adorn room even more if the weather wasn't so dark.

We moved to my bedroom.  The bedroom was even more beautiful. In the middle was a king-sized bed decorated with gold and drawings of leaves and flowers. On either side stood nightstands, and on them, lamps also decorated with gold. On the left stood a large mirror, you guessed it, decorated with gold. Two large windows would give enough light during the day, of course, if not everything is so dark because of the clouds. The nude carpet was covering almost the whole ground.

Mariella headed for the door on the right and I followed her. We entered even bigger room, the bathroom. Everything was decorated with gold. There was a door leading to the closet. The closet was the biggest room of all.

Mariella: We didn't really know what you like, so we bought dresses, shoes and bags from many different brands and shops. The jewellery was kept safe with all the royal jewellery. If you like any piece of jewellery, I can bring it to you.

Me: Thank you Mariella.

Mariella: This is your wedding dress. You will try it now in a case if we need to fix anything.

Me: Wedding dress?

Mariella: You are not informed? Your wedding is tomorrow.

Me: Tomorrow?

Mariella: Yes.

Me: So soon?

Mariella: I am sorry.

I looked at the wedding dress again. It was beautiful. It was a mermaid cut, floor-length, with long sleeves. It was made of tulle with floral decorations. Next to it was a veil decorated with pearls and crystals. Shoes were all white with big diamonds in the middle.

Me: It's beautiful.

Mariella: One of the most beautiful in royal history.

Me: Can you get me a warm bath...

Petra and Ana: With rose petals and sea salt?

Me: Yes.

Mariella: Of course.

She bowed down and went to the bathroom.

Me: So, do you like this place? This country?

Ana: I do. And guys are handsome.

She winked at me.

Petra: I do too. But, I miss home. And this does not feel like home.

Me: I know. It will, soon.

Petra: Is this your wedding dress?

Me: Yes! It is beautiful, right?

Petra: Very beautiful. I can't believe that you are getting married tomorrow.

Me: I know right. It feels like we were running around your treehouse.

Ana: Oh, Petra's treehouse. It was epic! I liked it up there. We always had these tea parties and balls.

Me: Yes! Do you remember when Ana almost fell from it? She was dancing and stumbled upon your favourite doll.

Petra: OMG, yeees! Госпожица Мия!
                                       (Miss Mia!)

Ana: I remember that. Hahahahah.

We all laughed.

Me: I miss those days.

Petra and Ana: Me too!

Mariella: Your bath is ready.

Petra: Wait! You need to try your wedding dress first.

Me: You are right!

The king's room... (Nicolas' POV)

Me: What is she like, lady mother?

Lady mother: She looks kind. But, she is actually very arrogant and conceited. But I must also admit that she is very beautiful.

Me: So she is going to be hard.

Lady mother: Hard? For what?

Me: To control. She is not going to be an easy wife and queen.

Lady mother: She won't get her crown and title right away. That takes time. She needs to prove that she is loyal to Austria and our people.

Me: I know. But won't her people be angry that she's not the queen right away? We don't want war with Bulgaria again, after so many decades.

Lady mother: There will be no war. Bulgaria still has no king until Prince Dimitar inherits the throne.

Me: I hope you are right.

Lady mother: I am always right!
