Some of y'all don't know how to act

Alright, so I saw this one tumblr post making a clear distinction between drawing boys in dresses. One is the creepy kinky shit, and the other is a normal ass boy just wearing a dress

Lemme tell you, this one isn't as bad in this here fandom, but there are a few I have noticed in my time here

So... there are only a few characters that ever wear dresses. One of them is mainly Don, the other often being Jon. I do not recall Nick wearing a dress as much, but I decided to draw him anyways

Ok now to my problem with this.....
Hmmmmmmm
So it's basically.........
Kinda........

You know.....
I'm not making direct statements here, but........

The way some of these writers put these boys in dresses is sometimes just.... homophobic......?

Lemme explain

Right, so I understand there are people who are pretty chill and in touch with their feminine side. They wear dresses cus it's fun and they feel pretty, and I totally get that. That's epic. I love everything about that
But then there are the fanfic writers

And I mean, when it is a relationship between two males, one of them will end up wearing a dress, which can be fine, if it weren't for the clear distinction that this is either a self-insert or just a "but who is the woman in the relationship?" stereotype

Idk it just really bothers me

And when boys are written in dresses, they are typically shy and "uwu I'm a lil bean and feel vulnerable"

SO I GAVE THEM SWORDS

BECAUSE SWORDS ARE BADASS AND WE NEED MORE PEOPLE WITH DRESSES AND SWORDS, NO MATTER THE GENDER

anyways, yeah

I drew Don, Jon, and Nick in dresses

Let me explain my 𝒸𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓋𝑒 𝓅𝓇𝑜𝒸𝑒𝓈𝓈

Let me explain my 𝒸𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓋𝑒 𝓅𝓇𝑜𝒸𝑒𝓈𝓈

Let's start with Jon:

So this dude a jester
And so I drew a medieval dress
And also because I love the floofy dresses

I honestly love Jon's pose. There's just a lot of energy and movement and I feel it really captures him
I've also never drawn dresses in dynamic poses so yeahhhh this was a fun challenge

I gave him a claymore because the idea of him hoisting this big ass sword is so funny to me
He's just running at you with this large sword dragging behind him because he isn't as skilled in swords
"Once I figure out how to maneuver this thing I'm gonna kick your ass!"

Also the spirals in his dress pattern frustrated me with the amount of time it took, but I had already committed and it was too late for me to turn back
So please appreciate the spirals

Next up we've got Nick:

Wasn't sure if I should go with his cowboy skin or his old skin, but the dress I chose for him just didn't fit the cowboy vibes sadly and so I decided to go with his old skin. Also, the dress thing seems to have died down, too, recently (or maybe it's just cus no one updates anything anymore), and so I guess this is just a way to reminisce the olden days

Nick is often written as a quiet, intelligent, and strong character, so I just portrayed that with the drawing. I have him a longer dress that I feel really fits him (and also with those types of dresses billowing in the wind — 👌 feel like I'm in a movie, bro)

I also gave him not one, but TWO rapiers
Watch out he may thwack it against your ankles and split your skin open

Finally: Don

Again, this always bothered me. We got the shy uwu bean wearing a cutesy dress and being sheepish and BARF

NO

THAT ISN'T DON VIBES AT ALL

In this universe where men wear dresses and women wear suits and non-binary folk wear potato sacks and steal your firstborn children, becoming the town cryptids and living in the walls, I imagine the d gang are a bit more ruffed up, Don especially given he's a steadfast individual and can be very aggressive at times, I'd say he wears that medieval dress cus jester but it's also ripped because he tumbles around in it a lot.

Also the ends are wet and he's muddy because even the bog can't slow him down. And yeah, maybe most dresses are too long for him so he's given a hand-me-down that someone from the dark ages once wore, but you think that's gonna stop him?
He's got a broadsword too! He isn't slowed down by a claymore like Jon! He'll cut your throat open and reach down to grab at your intestines, wearing them like a scarf—
Okay, that's definitely a bit much, but you got my point

A dress doesn't mean the character is changed. The only thing that changed is their wardrobe. If they'll kill you in pants, they sure as hell will still kill you in a skirt.

Also as a bonus here's Ashlie in a suit

Looks like she stepped out of Oliver TwistShe got a broadsword tooOLIVER TWIST BUT WITH SWORDSWHO GAVE THESE ORPHANS WEAPONS—

I'm just............. struggling with specifics, like I said

Anyways, what'd you think?
