As soon as all the corpses were defeated they all sat down and listened to what the juniors had already explained to Wei Wuxian and Xue Yang.
“Does that mean mother was also taken?” Jin Ling felt frustration course through him when one of the disciples of his clan nodded his head. Hearing this Wei Wuxian couldn’t help it as memories of his sister's death flooded his mind.
‘No Wei Ying she’s alive...everyone’s alive it’s ok’
“A-Ling” Wei Wuxian’s voice grabbed his attention away from the horrid thoughts that were going through his mind. “A-Ling, they’ll be ok I know they won’t hurt them they’re going to use them to drag us out.”
“How are you so sure?”“Because..their target is not any of you..but me and I will make sure they are ok" Although everyone was worried about their family and mentors they couldn’t help feeling pity for the man in front of them.
With an awkward cough he adjusted his mask and took Xue Yang away from the younger boys. Both their lovers followed them at a distance.
“I think this is far enough, Xue Yang do you know what this is?” Pulling out the Stygian Tiger amulet he let Xue Yang examine it. “This..this is a piece of Yin Iron how do you have it?”
“They had set it as a trap for me. I'm sure they thought I would be corrupted by it and use it to create fierce corpses but this amulet was infused with my spiritual energy causing it to change.” Taking the amulet in his hands he spoke to it. “Show yourself”
As if listening to his command they changed into their human form. Their small bodys were attached to Wei Wuxians robes like small children holding onto their mother when meeting a stranger.
“Holy Shi-”
“Language” Xiao Xingcheng’s voice stopped his words, almost making him curse again.
“Anyways how is that even possible?” Xue Yang crouched down, taking a closer look at the twins he took note at the shining strands on their head.
“This...how strange I can feel the demonic energy radiating off them but it feels like they have golden cores just really small.”
Xue Yang stared at the three infront of him before coming to a conclusion. “They're your children!” This had earned him a punch on the head by Wei Wuxian. “No you idiot! I might have white hair now but that doesn’t mean they're my children, but I believe they can help us track down where everyone is.” With a nod they started creating a plan and only returned once the plan was complete.
“We’re going to create a spirit searching circle and we need everyone's help with a few things.” Nods went around the group of youths preparing to sacrifice everything for their families. “We’re going to create a spirit searching circle containing both demonic and spiritual energy. Using the Stygian Tiger amulet we will use them to find everyone and we need everyone to put a small amount of your spiritual energy into it while thinking of your loved ones.”
Both Lan Wangji and Xiao Xingchen wanted to disagree with their lovers knowing it could be risky for them but both bit back their words knowing how stubborn both of them could be.
With a nod both cut their hand with Xue Yang’s blade and created the circle using their blood. Wei Wuxian was grateful he wasn’t the only one creating the circle or he would have passed out half way.
As instructed everyone stood around the circle waiting for them to begin.
Both sat down facing each other and placed the amulet in between them before placing their hands together and closed their eyes. Soon the amulet had started to float in-between them and began releasing demonic energy, while Xue Yang and Wei Wuxian released their spiritual energy.
Lan Wangji made sure to keep a close eye on Wei Wuxian noticing how his hair started floating up from the air being created to the way his breathing slowed down as he concentrated.
Slowly everyone released their spiritual energy towards them and the memories of their family and friends started entering their minds. With this they were able to feel a strong attraction in a certain direction.
In no time their conscience started moving in the direction where everyone was. In the least yet most expected place...Burial Mounds.
Deeper in Wei Wuxian spotted his family and friends yet there was someone else, he was wearing a mask and black clothing and yet as if he was able to see them he turned to face in their direction. Noticing this first Wei Wuxian forced Xue Yang’s consciousness back to his body where he opened his eyes in panic however he didn’t move, if he did he could cut the connection for Wei Wuxian to return to his body.
“Don’t come!” Xue Yang’s shout stopped everyone from stepping into the circle. “Don’t come...If you do he won’t be able to return to his body.”
Lan Sizhui couldn’t help glancing over to Lan Wangji, having lived with him since he was a child he was able to recognize the difference in his emotions but this..made his heart clench.
He could see anger and fear on his face, he was worried that once again Wei Wuxian would not return to his side.
“Ah looks like you found us..Wei Wuxian” The man’s voice was cold as he spoke. “Why don't I help you return to your body.” With a raise of his hand Yin energy flooded his senses and was forced back to his body. As if lightning struck his body a blood curdling scream came out from his lips, the once white hair returned to black as his silver orbs turned blood red before he collapsed.
“Wei Ying!”
“Wei Wuxian!”
“Uncle Wei!”
“Father!”
Different shouts from different people rang out in the clouded sky. Lan Wangji took Wei Wuxian’s unconscious body into his arms only feeling the smallest comfort when he saw him breathing. Looking for answers he faced Xue Yang who had spat out the blood that he was holding back.
“What happened?”
Lan Wangji’s voice was cold and devoid of emotions. He himself knew Xue Yang wasn’t at fault but he wanted answers.
“We found out where everyone is but..that man wearing a mask sensed us, Wei Wuxian had pushed me back to my body before he spoke. Other than that I really don’t know.”
“Wei Wuxian? You mean the one who rebuilt the Wen clan and was killed by-” A hand slapped the young boys mouth when they noticed how the others tensed.
“No one else must know he is alive.” Wen Ning who was usually kind gave them all a sharp glare which instantly made them shut their mouths. Without waiting for anyone Xiao Xingcheng led Lan Wangji back to their home and to an empty room where he laid Wei Wuxian down and started cleaning the blood off him.
“Lan Sizhui..do you think Uncle Wei will be ok?" Jin Ling stared at the closed door in front of him, wanting to go in yet fearing Hanguang-jun he stayed away.
Lan Sizhui placed a gentle hand on his and unconsciously Jin Ling intertwined their hands. "I..I don't know, I hadn't seen him in years and I'm worried I won't be able to properly call him father and thank him for saving my family and me."
"Father? He- uncle Wei had a child?" His shocked expression caused him to laugh softly which made him feel slightly better. "No, your uncle Wei adopted me after both my parents died yet after everyone thought he was gone, my cousins took me in before handing me to Hanguang-jun believing I'd be better off as a Lan and soon was adopted by Lan Wangji..my father."
The new information had Jin Ling shocked yet happy he wasn't related to his uncle. Then again his uncle was also adopted.
"Then I can still take you as my wife." His words were mumbled but Lan Sizhui had heard them and couldn't help but blush and act like he didn't hear a thing and tightened his hold on Jin Ling's hand while looking at the shut door.
'Father, please wake up we still need you.'
