Miley's POV

"Okay guys, are you ready for your first day of school?" I ask the boys as we're getting ready to leave the house.

"Yes!" Bentley says excitedly.

"I can't believe you're already in second grade." I tell Bentley. "And Cam is in fourth and Jo is in sixth! You're officially in middle school!"

"Mom please don't make a big deal out of it." Jonah begs. "If you embarrass me while you drop us off I'm officially dropping out of school and becoming a hippie."

"Taking it a bit too far don't ya think?"

"Um, no. If you embarrass me on day one of school it will be the end of my social life. I'll be called a momma's boy for the entire year."

"Oh stop exaggerating." I say.

"Cam help me out."

"Please don't embarrass Jonah, mom."

"I won't I'm just teasing you. But seriously, is everyone ready to go? I don't want you to be late for your first day."

"We're ready." Cameron says.

"I can't wait to see my friends again."

"Jonah, you saw a couple of them last week."

"I meant in school."

"You are gonna pay attention and learn, right? Not just f- goof around with friends?" I ask.

"Nice save mom, and yes, I'll pay attention and learn."

"It won't be too expensive to pay attention." I say with a smirk.

"Did you really just say a mom joke?"

"Well I'm a mom."

"Yeah, but you're Miley Cyrus. You're supposed to be a cool mom. That wasn't a cool joke. I'm glad it was said here and not in public, it would've embarrassed me." Jonah replies.

"Ouch, no love from Jonah today. Wanna hear a joke about paper?"

"Not really, no."

"Good cause it's...terrible." I say with a chuckle, Jonah rolls his eyes in response.

"I'm walking to school."

"No, I'm driving. If you wanna walk you have to leave earlier, and if you wanna leave earlier you have to get ready earlier, and if you wanna get ready earlier you have to wake up earlier. And you and I both know you like your sleep."

"I never knew it was possible to say "earlier" so many times in one sentence and actually still make sense. Can we just go to school mom? Please?"

"Yes, I'm ready to get some alone time."

"Thank God."

"Admit you love my jokes."

"I think they're funny." Bentley says.

"Well thank you Ben, good to know someone appreciates my jokes."

"Wait til you're old enough for actually funny jokes Ben, then you'll realize mom's jokes are, well, mom jokes."

"Can we just go to school?" Cameron begs.

"Yes." I say again, this time I open the door and we all walk outside.

After I dropped off the kids at school I got home and decided to call Noah.
