Miley's POV
"How was your first day of school guys?" I ask the boys as they get into the car.
"It was great." Cameron says.
"For me too." Bentley agrees.
"Jonah?" Jonah just gets in the passenger seat silently. "I don't know if the silence is because you don't know how to describe how great it was, or if the silence is because you don't wanna talk about how bad it was..."
"It was okay. Can we go home?"
"Jo what's wrong?"
"Nothing, can we please just go home?" I start the car and begin to drive.
On our way home Cameron and Bentley talked about how great their day was, but Jonah stayed silent the whole ride home. We all get inside and I shut the door.
"You guys don't have homework yet do you?" I ask. "Hopefully not, it's the first day of school."
"Nope, that's also why it's a good day. No homework. None for me or Ben."
"Jo? Do you have homework?" He shakes his head and walks into his room.
"Why is Jonah sad?" Bentley asks.
"I don't know if he's sad, but he is definitely upset. Will you two please leave him alone? I'm gonna give him some time to see if he decides to talk about today."
"Okay mommy. When will dinner be done?"
"You're hungry already? Didn't you eat lunch?" I ask.
"I'm hungry again mommy!" Well he is definitely excited from today.
"Well I'll start dinner soon then. Are you hungry Cam?"
"Not right now." He answers.
"Will you be hungry when dinner is done?"
"Probably."
"Okay I'll start dinner. I'm gonna ask Jo if he's hungry first though."
I walk to Jonah's room and softly knock on the door.
"Come in." I hear him say quietly.
"Hey Jonah, I'm gonna start dinner soon. Do you wanna choose what to eat tonight?" He shakes his head no. "Okay well I'll come get you when it's done." I leave his room and walk back into the kitchen.
"Can we go play outside?" Cameron asks.
"No, just watch some TV. I won't take very long. Please agree, no arguing."
As I cook dinner I hear Cameron and Bentley talking.
"I wanna pick the movie." Bentley demands.
"No Ben, you picked the last one, I wanna pick."
"Pick something good!"
"Well I'm not picking something stupid and for little kids. That stuff is boring and dumb. We shouldn't even watch a movie, dinner won't take that long." Cameron argues.
"So? I want a movie."
"We should watch a show."
"No."
"There's a new one that just came out and it looks so good."
"No!" Bentley shouts. I roll my eyes and walk into the living room.
