Keung Jun walked slowly around his son, assessing him with his eyes: "I don't understand your question."

Jinhai seems to be struggling to control his emotions: "I did everything you ask because my mother told me that you were a genius and ahead of your time. I killed, kidnapped and did horrible things in the name of science. TELL ME! What were you doing? What was so important that you were willing to sacrifice your son's sanity for?"

Keung Jun sighs, clearly unimpressed by his son: "You summoned me for this?"

Jinhai: "What else would I want from a monster like you?"

Keung Jun smirks: "I smell blood on you, boy. Don't feign innocence when you're worse than I."

Jinhia closes his eyes and whispers: "You made me this way.."

Keung Jun moves closer to his son and whispers to him: "No, I just used your given talents. I never forced you to do anything. I just asked. You were more than happy to comply."

Jinhai feels his chest constrict with frustration. If the man before him was not already dead, he would choke the life out of him: "Tell me the reason!"

Keung Jun moved around the room, examining things and said in a bored voice: "Science is not easy. Those who are bold like me push the limits to understand what can and cannot be done. Lan Clan had set rules and wards to detect things they deem.. unethical when it comes to experimentation. So, since they did not know about you, I thought you would open up the opportunity to explore riskier endeavors."

He turns to glare at his son: "At the time, I did not expect you to turn out ungrateful."

Jinhai bitterly laughs: "Riskier endeavors?"

Keung Jun: "Yes. What else would you call it?"

Jinhai shakes his head and says in a low voice: "I don't know what I was expecting from you."

Wuxian looks sadly at the man holding his hand. He didn't fully understand what's happening but he can feel the man's anger and frustration: "Don't ask for an apology from those who have nothing to lose."

Jinhai: "I don't need his apology. I want an explanation! I need to know why!"

Wuxian can sense loathing starting to fill his senses. He knew if he does not contain the situation soon, Jinhai will trigger a vision from his past. Wuxian: "Why.." He feels a trickle of blood make its way to his upper lip and he frustratingly wipes it before he continues: "Why do you need his reasons?" Wuxian leans to whisper to him: "He clearly does not regret anything or feel guilt."

Jinhai watches his father as he continues to walk around like he was on a stroll: "I hate him.."

Wuxian looks at Wangji when emotions start to merge with his pain. Wuxian doesn't know if he can control the situation anymore.

Jinhai continues to watch his father with barely contained fury: "People call me the Slayer. That man is so vile, even my title is an understatement to his cruelty. He shouldn't have died so quickly!"

Wuxian's breath caught in his lung and he was barely able to strangle his soul-bond's name before Wangji yanked the sword from his hand and pushed the Slayer away. Wuxian felt Wangji scoop him up and surround him in his embrace before all the Slayer's intense emotions washed over him..

Qiren, Wangji and Ran touched Wuxian's hair when it glowed while Zewu Jun kept his sword aimed at the Slayer:

'A small boy stood in front of his father. The man gave him candy not to eat, but to find homeless and poor children and lure them to his lab. The boy watched his father use them as animals for his experiments. Like their sacrifice was important even though the man never spoke of his work. As the boy grew, the man's demands became more bold. He wanted expensive items, so the boy stole for him. He wanted animals, so the boy hunted for him. He wanted bodies, so the boy killed for him. Whatever the man asked, his son got it done. Until, one day the boy was caught by a rogue cultivator while dragging an unconscious girl just like his father asked for. She let him loose after rescuing the girl and followed him home. The cultivator watched for months as his father's demands became more cruel and impossible. When she had enough evidence to confront him, a brawl ended with his death. The woman was whisked away by his father's disciple and was punished by his father's clan. The boy had no purpose. All he knew was how to steal, kill and destroy. His father said that it was for the greater good so he took his father's sword and left his village to find an answer: why would a human like him exist? All he found was rejection, hatred and anger. If no one wants to accept him then why should he spare them. One village after the other.. One man to the other.. He painted the world in red, hoping to find someone who would accept him, understand him and embrace his nature.. He grew up to become a ruthless killer until he met a wise man with a cause. He shared his home, his family and helped him quell his unrestrained anger. Leader Qi told him his future and he helped him accept his fate. He learned to forgive himself and focus his talents to serve as a time usher with his new brothers and sisters.. Until he met the most beautiful man he's ever seen. He has long accepted that some things in life will forever be unanswered until this beautiful man gave him a way. A chance to understand why he became like this.. A Slayer who hates his name.'

They all returned to reality hearing Wuxian cough violently. Wangji tried to calm him down until Healer Shi rushed to his side and put pressure on his energy points, making him pass out. Wangji didn't have time to process the hate and loathing coursing through his veins from the vision when worry for his soul-bond overshadowed everything else. He scooped Wuxian and rushed after Healer Shi towards her healing chamber.

Zewu Jun and Jinhai were in a daze after being showered with Wuxian's glow while the rest saw the Slayer's past. Qiren took a few seconds to process his emotions then he says: "Lan Jinhai, you will stay in Cloud Recesses until we get to the bottom of what we just saw."

Jinhai frowns: "What you just saw?"

Ran returns after writing down the details of the vision and says: "We asked you to control your reactions because Treasure Wei is triggered by strong emotions. His empathy allows others to see the past and feel the raw emotions via the energy in his hair."

Jinhai swallows hard: "You saw what I did?"

Qiren nods: "We saw what your father made you do.."

Jinhai slams his fist on the ground: "I DON'T NEED YOUR SYMPATHY!"

Qiren glares at him: "You won't find any sympathy from us, Slayer! We saw what you did after your father was killed!"

Zewu Jun raises his hand to calm everyone down: "Let's end the meeting here."

He turns to look at the seething Slayer: "The Divine Oracle will speak with you once he recovers. As we mentioned before, this process is taxing on him and he might help you find answers when he's feeling better."

Jinhai sighs: "No one can give me answers."

Zewu Jun smiles at him: "Brother Wei has made harder wishes come true. Have faith."
