Wuxian: "The book was clearly written by a delirious man. I know the feeling when one is constricted by their point of view, especially when all you see is a dark and depressing future. I have the power to change events while he was stuck watching bad things unfold to those around him..

The first few chapters were like a disclaimer, he didn't know when and where these events were going to unfold. He only knew that it would happen in a distant future where he was no longer alive. He was hoping that someone would find the book and use it as a guide to change his prediction.

The book mainly tells a story of a woman who can see things other people couldn't. Her village shunned her, thinking that she was possessed but in reality, she had what he described as 'the third eye'. She can see spirits and creatures of other realms. One day she met and fell in love with a man that only appears to her in the dark. She never saw his face or felt his touch. They talked from dusk till dawn and she was convinced that he was the one for her.

The man was a tyrant in another lifetime. He committed many heinous crimes that the deities didn't know how to punish him when he finally died. They ended up shunning him into a parallel universe where he can hear, see and live among the living but never share their existence. An unseen ghost in a colorless world. He can only cross over when darkness fills the earth.

The woman didn't know about his past, she got attracted to him because she thought that they were both shunned unjustly. So she roamed the earth, looking for a way to free him so they can live happily ever after. After many years, a shaman told her about the Wraith; a banished spirit that can only cross over when darkness covers the earth. So she waited until the moon eclipsed and they were finally able to hold hands.

That night they made a child together, Biming. When the deities found out about their affair, they got mad. The woman was banished with her lover to the colorless world but they spared the child. Biming is a hybrid: half human, half wraith. He grew up knowing that he was different because he can hear voices in the dark, telling him things that were vile and hateful. Meanwhile, the deities kept sending more cruel spirits to the colorless world to join the man and woman thinking of it as a justifiable way to redeem their crimes. What they didn't account for was how cunning Biming's father can be. He traveled the colorless world to find all these stranded Wraiths and created his own kingdom. At the time the deities were not concerned. After all, these spirits cannot cross over or interact with the living so they let him be.

They underestimated the power of the abandoned son. Biming's father visited him regularly, pleading for his freedom and grooming him to be their salvation. The book describes Biming as the dark knight that will free his people by destroying the light that's keeping them in the alternative world."

Zewu Jun frowns: "Destroy the light?"

Wuxian nods: "Yes. He wants to get rid of the sun and moon so the Wraith can cross over to our reality permanently. It was prophesied that the shaman that guided Biming's mother will be reincarnated as a revered person that brings blessings to his/her people. The shaman hold the answer to how Biming can eliminate the sun and moon."

Wangji: "Liwei told us that Biming asked for something else."

Wuxian frowns: "What did he ask for?"

Wangji: "He asked: How do I unleash the darkness within? He never mentioned the sun or the moon in his inquiry."

Wuxian rubs his nose in thought: "The book clearly states that the shaman will recognize Biming as Wraith from his previous life. Biming read the book and knows how to free his people.. Why isn't he asking the right questions?"
