As swords clash, energy strikes collide and the world around them is showered with dust, Wuxian stands to watch over his soldiers as they fight an army they cannot see and the faceless man.
The fight has been going on for hours and Wuxian is starting to run out of breath.
He puts down his flute as he watches Wangji and Jinhai dance around Biming, cornering the evil man and striking without mercy. He feels the Wraith King whisper into his ear: "This will not end well for you, young Oracle. You're not strong enough."
Wuxian: "I don't need to be strong. Righteousness is on my side and it always prevails."
The King points with his melted finger at the hole that's still leaking more Wraith. The crack seems to widen as more soldiers try to squeeze their way out. Wuxian watches Zewu Jun cast one light talisman after the other to stop their advances but the numbers are overwhelming the wise man.
He hears Yuxio curse and turns his attention to her. Wen Ning was faster and was able to contain the Wraith that pinned her flame sword using his chains. She turns to nod her thanks to him and they continue fighting.
Wuxian purses his lips as he watches the people around him fight a seemingly un-winnable fight. He has yet to see the choices the shaman talked about. The Wraith King steps to stand next to him and watch: "Life finds a way to balance itself, young man. The moment the deities chose to shun us in the colorless world, they banned our souls from reincarnation. We deserve second chances too."
Wuxian turns to glare at the king: "You deserve nothing but banishment. I may not know what you did in your past life, but I know what you did to your son.. What you made him do. If the people who follow you are cut from the same cloth then the deities were just in their judgment."
The Wraith King tips his head back and laughs: "Count your blessings, Oracle. For this night will be the end of them."
He phases back into the darkness that seems to start surrounding them, closing in.
Zewu Jun was starting to run out of steam. He screams for Wuxian: "Brother Wei, I don't know how long I can contain this?"
Wuxian sees some of the cultivators around him being clawed by the Wraith, leaving wounds that seem to be leaking black smoke and spreading into their bodies.
This is not good.
He needs to find a way to end this soon.
Wen Ning whips his chains towards Wuxian and the smaller man jumps on instinct, striking a Wraith that was about to grab Wuxian.
The darkness seems to pull them all into a tighter circle, limiting their capabilities to fight back.
Hanguang Jun grabs his satchel and unleashes his zither, playing an aggressive tune and unleashing his full potential on the Wraith army.
Some of the other Lan Clan members join him, creating a symphony of blue lit strikes. It seems to slow down the advance of the Wraith but not stop them from coming.
Jinhai lands next to Wuxian after dodging one of Biming's strikes and groans: "The bastard is stronger! I can't beat him with that sword!"
Wuxian hears Da Ziran whisper into his ear: "Fix your mistake, young Oracle."
Wuxian frowns, not understanding her advice.
Jinhai suddenly grabs Wuxian by the waist and jumps, dodging another strike from Biming. Wuxian: "Take me to the portal!"
Jinhai screams: "Are you insane?"
Wuxian eyes it from afar: "We need to seal it or we will never win!"
Yuxio and Mianmian flank them, hearing his request and ready to cover the Oracle's advance. It took longer than Wuxian anticipated for them to reach it and the smaller man finally got a good look at it.
Some of the colors of this world seem to fade around it. It feels like the crack was infecting this world, not just free the Wraith. Wuxian screams in frustration: "DAMN YOU DEITIES! HELP ME! I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO DO!"
No one here is strong enough to kill Biming.
No one present knew how to close the hole.
Wuxian kneels before the opening he helped create and fisted the dirt around it in anger.
He hears Da Ziran whisper once again: "Make your choice, young Oracle."
