We live in a world where colors paint everything around us, where the air moves constantly and noises bleed together to create a beautiful harmony that makes us feel alive. Some people never stop to appreciate these small blessings for what they are: we are alive and we exist in a world made to remind us that we are not alone.
The moment Wuxian dared to open his eyes, he found himself in the colorless world, similar to the one he saw in his vision. Somehow it felt worse than he remembered. His breath hitched and he found himself gripping the strange hand in his, out of fear of the unknown.
Biming stares at the smaller man and whispers in wonder: "You're here.."
Wuxian turns to glare at Biming: "You kidnapped me! Don't act so surprised!"
Wuxian rant was cut short when his eyes settled on Biming's true face. He was truly a handsome man and the wide smile he was aiming at Wuxian was making him seem more human than a monster. Wuxian was somehow less frightened.
Biming inched closer and raised Wuxian's hand: "I wanted your ring. I didn't expect you to be able to cross between dimensions with me."
Wuxian's eyes widened: "You set us up. You let us take the spirit pouch and the book so you can trade them off for my ring.."
Biming nods, still staring at Wuxian like he was the only source of water in a dry desert. Wuxian fidgets as he starts to freak out a little from his intense attention: "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Biming pulled Wuxian by their connected hands and once their lips settle a few inches away from each other, he whispers: "I'm starting to believe that you were made for me."
Wuxian chuckled, pushing him away: "Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm bonded to another."
Biming smirks: "I can kill him."
Wuxian: "If he dies, I die."
Biming tsks: "In case you haven't noticed, I have no face and you have golden hair. Anything is possible."
Wuxian shakes his head and takes another look around. He was trying to figure out where they are: "Why did you bring me here?"
Biming looks around too: "There is no science to jumping between dimensions. I just sense connected paths and try to get as close as possible to where I want to go with each jump."
Wuxian never thought that the lack of colors would affect him this much. He shivers in discomfort, contemplating how he could get himself out of this situation without a fight. He has no backup, Da Ziran was not with him when he jumped dimensions and if he was honest with himself, he was scared shitless. He squared his shoulders and said to Biming with as much conviction as he could muster: "Take me back."
Biming holds up the hand still in his to examine the ring: "You owe me this. Give it to me and I will try to return you where you need to be."
Wuxian sighs: "This ring is a first-class weapon that, for some reason, chose me as its master. I tried to remove it but it's stuck."
Biming frowns, then grabs the ring and tries to take it off with no success. He groaned loudly: "If I can't have the ring then you're coming with me!"
Wuxian takes a deep breath to calm his nerves: "Biming, I have a family and a crap load of responsibilities, which includes stopping you. What gives you the impression that I would go willingly with you?"
The moment the last word left Wuxian's mouth, a loud bark was heard at the dim, dark and colorless distance which made him flinch and instantly hide behind Biming.
It took a few seconds for the faceless man to understand what just happened and he laughed: "The deities chose a man that's afraid of dogs?"
Wuxian was shaking uncontrollably, grabbing into Biming's robes and looking from behind him to try to spot where the barking was coming from: "Why.. Why isss there a do.. Dog in here?"
Biming takes out his sword, a black stone sword that is so dark, it feels like the world ends where it exists and whispers: "They guard this gateway between our worlds. You can thank your precious deities for putting them here to stop me."
A close bark made Wuxian flinch hard and bury his face in Biming's back: "Make them go away!"
Biming sighs: "I can't. They are not actually real. We can only run or they will consume parts of you until you no longer exist. I learned that the hard way.."
Wuxian whispers: "Your face.."
Biming nods: "Yes, my face.."
When the sound gets close, Wuxian whimpers: "No no no no.."
Biming turns around and embraces Wuxian and whispers: "Take a deep breath.."
Wuxian felt the world around him shift and natural noises start to filter back into his thoughts. He opens his eyes and lets out a sigh in relief: "Thank you."
Biming smiles down at the smaller man in his arms: "My world is not easy to live in, pretty boy."
Wuxian pushes him away and smooths his robes, cheeks red in embarrassment: "I'm not a boy!"
Biming smirks: "But you are pretty."
Wuxian throws his hands in the air and screams in frustration: "WHY AM I ALWAYS SURROUNDED BY PERVERTS?"
Biming watches Wuxian look around the forest they're in as he wraps his arms around himself to stay warm. Snow was covering every surface and Wuxian didn't have time to pack a few coats while the faceless man kidnapped him.. by mistake.
Wuxian shivers: "Where are we?"
Biming takes one look around and says: "Just outside the city."
Wuxian glares at him: "I'm leaving.."
Biming dramatically gestures towards the main road: "By all means, your highness. Would you like me to carry you home too?"
Wuxian tsks at him: "WHY DID YOU TAKE ME IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF DOING ANYTHING? What a waste of time!"
Biming grabs Wuxian's arm as he passes by him and whispers threateningly into his ear: "You know what I want. You know what we can both do. I'm letting you go as a last gesture of kindness. Stand in my way and I will kill you and everyone you love."
Wuxian turns to glare back: "Take the base out of your voice, Biming. I know your past and future. I will stop you if it's the last thing I ever do."
Biming lets go and grabs a strand of Wuxian's hair to sniff it: "This is the last time we meet in peace. I look forward to seeing how the chosen one is planning to change fate."
With one last whiff of Wuxian, Biming vanishes into thin air, leaving a frazzled Wuxian in his wake. The smaller man sinks into the snow covered ground and lets out a long breath. He senses that the end is near and that the fate of humanity lays heavily on his shoulders.
