Raindrops felt like a thousand stones hitting against me ,
Drenched in cold water but my body felt numb,
Pouring drops did an excellent job in hiding my descending tears ,
My body was shivering as I sat alone on the pavement ,
Warmth emitted from someone's body beside me ,
My breath hitched in my throat and a gasp left my lips ,
It should not be him .......
2020:
Taehyun jerked back when he was suddenly interrupted by a soft voice calling out for him .
" Sir .... Sir ....your patient has a routine checkup for any possible injuries or self harm . We need you there . " Taehyun squinted and blinked his eyes rapidly focusing them on the nurse standing across him .
He hummed in approval and rubbed the remaining sleep from his eyes . He fiddled with his coat's buttons and grabbed his notepad before sprinting towards the Examination room . His mind was messed up and he had his own sets of questions left for Beomgyu .
Taehyun opened the door a bit harshly and found two -three nurses surrounding Beomgyu who had his arms curled around himself protectively .
Taehyun sauntered inside slowly not grasping the situation and gazed at a nurse who with a sigh explained , " Oh this happens during every body scan . Your patient is too shy to reveal his well - built body to us . . "
A fit of giggles erupted from all the nurses around but Taehyun did'nt find it amusing at all . His attention was focused at a distance on a boy whose eyes were jammed on the room's floor .
" We know how the handle such stubborn patients , don't worry. " One of the nurse stated before stepping closer to Beomgyu who backed away and said , " Stop , don't come near me . " But the nurse ignored him and continued walking in his direction but Taehyun called her out and she haulted in her steps .
Taehyun glimpsed scrutinisingly at Beomgyu and asked him , " Why don't you stop being a brat and give your body scan calmly ?"Beomgyu snapped his eyes at Taehyun on hearing the question and said , " I don't like so many people examining me like I am a circus monkey ok . "
Taehyun studied the boy's face , his gaze flickering from for sometime before he declared ," All the nurses out of the room now . I will myself perform the body scan and report the results to you . "
There eyes widened in astonishment but Taehyun held each of their gazes sternly as if challenging anyone one of them to argue back . This was enough to shoo them off .
After Taehyun and Beomgyu were left alone , the cherry head sauntered towards the nearest table and leaned on it with his hips resting against the furniture's edge . He folded his arms in front of his chest and Beomgyu squirmed under Taehyun's sharp gaze .
"Remove your shirt. " Taehyun ordered after a minute and Beomgyu gawked and blinked multiple times to ensure he heard right . " What... what ??? " Beomgyu finally managed to ask and Taehyun find it hard not to roll his eyes ," Remove your shirt for body scanning . I am not going to touch you . I don't like repeating myself . Do what I ask unless you want me to do the task for you . "
Taehyun blurted impatiently and a shiver ran down Beomgyu's spine . He sheepishly laced his fingers on the fabric of his shirt and in one swift motion removed the piece of clothing . Taehyun eyes roamed on Beomgyu's porcelain like body .
There were some blue- black bruises littering on his defined torso and long , red cut on his chest from yesterday . There were marks and small cuts all over his hands and arms and Taehyun wondered how many times did Beomgyu hurt himself in the past . He monitored his body for a minute longer before Taehyun jotted down some notes and stared right into Beomgyu silvery eyes .
" Turn around and this time I won't repeat twice alright . " Taehyun mumbled and Beomgyu gulped nervously before following the other's command . It was then Taehyun stood up from the table and glared shockingly at his back because he wasn't expecting that . His eyes lingered on various faint red lines running across the boy's back .
Some were criss- crossed and others were vertical or slanting and just from a glance Taehyun could predict that they were deep to slice deep through his skin . He took staggering steps towards Beomgyu and when he was close enough , he grazed his fingers softly on the marks . Beomgyu shuddered at the sudden contact but did'nt pull away and let Taehyun ran his hand smoothly over his own back .
Taehyun whispered slowly to him , " How??? " Beomgyu shivered at the feeling of Taehyun warm breath mingling with his skin as he answered , " Monster ...monster did this . "
Taehyun was mindlessly staring at his office's white ceiling when the doors bolted open and inside entered a nurse who greeted him with a bow and asked , " Sir are the reports of your patient's body scan ready ? " Taehyun spared her a quick glance before nodding his head in approval and grabbing a blue manila file but before he handed them to her who stood expectant by , he inquired , " But why do you need them ? " The nurse was a little taken aback by the question as she answered , " Sir we need these in the form of recorded data for Beomgyu's Mental Health Record 2020 .
" This sparked Taehyun's interest and he quirked his eyebrows asking her , " Is there only a one Health Record of a patient or more ? " She thought a bit before answering " One Health Record is prepared for two combined years based on Patient's progress . "
Taehyun mentally calculated and his eyes doubled in size as he impatiently asked , " That means Beomgyu must be having more than five records right ? ."
The nurse hummed in agreement and stated , " Yes sir and you have seen the recent one of the year 2019 on your first day . "
" But where are the others ? I want them right on the top of my desk by tomorrow . Do you understand ? " Taehyun exclaimed before shoving the blue file in her hands who stood dumbfound and blurted out , " I have no idea where they will be but i will check . Thank you Sir ." She disappeared behind the doors after that .
Taehyun slumped back on his chair tiringly hoping that he will get something useful in Beomgyu's previous records . He fluttered his eyes close but his mind seemed to be occupied by a pair of silver eyes and blinding smile rather than his dreadful past .
