They all were gathered in Taehyun's office , the said man slumped on his chair while his stoic gaze was fixed on Yeonjun across him holding Beomgyu 2013 case file in his shivering hands . Namjoon and Jin were standing silently beside them stealing frequent gazes at both of them . Yeonjun was uncharacteristically quiet , his unsteady gaze reading each and every syllable a multiple times before a gasp escaped his lips. His face had lost its creamy complexion turning a faded pale as he raised his head to gnaw at Taehyun as if to confirm whatever scribbled on those files was real . Taehyun hated to admit it but he nodded in affirmation and Yeonjun painfully squinted his eyelids close trying to digest the information , a single tear escaping from the corner of his eyes .
After some low sniffs and shaky whimpers he managed to compose himself and mumbled lowly , " I am sorry . It's my fault I never believed Beomgyu and sadly declared him a Schizophrenic . He had to suffer for 12 years . I have always been cruel and rude to him , I could never forgive myself ." Taehyun roused from his seat and rubbed his friend's back sympathetically as he stated , " Hey I know you always portray yourself to be a cold hearted person but actually you are a softie from inside . Its not easy to deal with mentally instable patients and that too for so many years . And I think it was better that all these years Beomgyu believed his terrifying past was just a hallucination . Atleast it helped in reducing Beomgyu's pain . " He flashed a weak smile at Yeonjun whose eyes were blotched with tears . Taehyun averted his gaze to Namjoon and Jin and asked them , " Can we discharge Beomgyu now . I will take his care . I think he will be having some panic attacks and anxiety issues , but don't worry he has me now. " Taehyun could see Jin fidgeting on his spot before the officer hesitantly uttered , " Taehyun does he remember that he killed your father ."
The same question has been troubling Taehyun from a long time . That day Beomgyu had just told him that he remembered being assaulted but nothing else . He manipulated his answer for a long time before blurting , " I don't think so and all of you will shut off your mouths regarding the matter. Don't tell me now you are going to arrest him . I will break your legs before you could do so . " Namjoon rolled his eyes in response while Jin was bewildered and he exclaimed , " Of course not . He stabbed your father in self defense and moreover he was just a kid then . How could you even imagine we will do this . I was just worried about Beomgyu . "
Namjoon intervened between them and asked , " But what if later in the future Beomgyu remembers that . " " He is right . " Yeonjun who was silent most of the time remarked and continued ," You told that Beomgyu's memories were reviving . That means it will not be long before he remembers hat he killed your father. What will you do then ? . " All eyes were upon Taehyun waiting for him to break the suffocating silence . He knew they were right and sooner or later he had to deal with the situation but for once he wanted to pretend that everything was fine , even it was a lie . Namjoon , Jin and Yeonjun never got a response in return but they let it be . They wouldn't mind giving their friend sometime.
Beomgyu was staring out of his room's window at the crystal clear sky when Taehyun entered inside. He was draped in white blanket on the bed and he had his hands placed over his lap . He turned around at the sound of door screeching and smiled softly when his eyes landed on Taehyun who sauntered towards Beomgyu and sat beside him on the comfy bed . For few minutes they both just stared deeply into each other's eyes not speaking any words but then Taehyun broke the settling silence around them by asking , " Did you sleep ? " " Tried but I couldn't . " Was the only answer Beomgyu provided before shifting aside making space for Taehyun who laid closely beside Beomgyu on the mattress . Beomgyu cuddled with Taehyun ,his head on the other's chest and snaking his arm around Taehyun's waist before fluttering his eyelashes close. Taehyun observed his soft features while carding his fingers gently through Beomgyu's smooth locks as he mumbled , " Will you stay with me if I invite you to . "
Without opening his eyes Beomgyu responded , " I am already here with you . "Taehyun couldn't help a ghost of smile from spreading on his red lips when he explained , " I mean outside this faculty , at my place . Will you ? " At that Beomgyu snapped his head up and gnawed wide eyed at Taehyun , the fear evident in his eyes while stammering, " But...but ..Monster .." Taehyun never let him finish as he placed his lips on top of the other's in a chaste , tender kiss. He sucked on Beomgyu's plush , soft lips that tasted as sweet as strawberry and he heard the other moaning in pleasure and contentment . They separated after sometime but their foreheads were still pressed together as Taehyun gazed at Beomgyu's shining ash eyes he had already fallen in love with in his childhood when he whispered , " Monster will not be there to trouble you . I promise ." Beomgyu ducked his head under Taehyun's chin as he dozed off in a deep slumber while Taehyun wondered whether he should have added that " Monster is never alive to hurt anyone anymore" but of course he didn't .
This time Taehyun was seated at Yeonjun's office who seemed better than before though his eyes were still bloodshot and dark circles encircling them . Without escaping from straight line of conversation he directly asked , " How much has Namjoon paid for Beomgyu's hospital fees in total . I thought about asking him but it would have been awkward and beside I know it will be a huge amount to remember . " Yeonjun simply ogled dumbly at Taehyun for one minute when Taehyun cleared his throat to jolt his friend back to reality and it worked because his blank face was replaced with a baffled one as he explained , " Namjoon never paid Beomgyu's fees nor anyone from his station did . " Taehyun registered the sentence and his lips parted in confusion . He had confidently assumed that it would surely be Namjoon or anyone from the station paying the bills but he was shocked to be proven wrong. Yeonjun on noticing the hints of ambiguity on the other's face revealed " It is someone from Seoul . I have no idea who is it . We have informed them that Beomgyu is discharging from the faculty and this time they are coming themselves to pay the last installment . " Taehyun eyebrows shooted to his hairline and he stroked his chin pondering something before commenting ,
" I am looking forward to meet whoever it will be . "
