Prologue

I don't know why I am attending this party. This is so child-like. A debut na masquerade party? Who gives an idea like this?

Grant's sister is really a headache.

If not for Grant's sake, I won't be attending here. Lalo pa at hindi ko nga alam kung sino-sino samin ang pupunta.

The mask isn't helping me to recognize my friends. Maybe I could recognize them with their scents. Ang problema, si Railey, Grant, at Leigh lang ang kabisado ko.

Leigh has a distinguishing scent kasi. Expensive fruity perfume. While Grant and Railey because I am so close to them. Alliston is not wearing any particular brand of perfume. She tends to change it depende sa mood nya.

Baka sa height siguro at way manamit. It's kind of thrilling to find them. For sure, si Railey mahahanap ako non. Sya lang naman ang laging naghahanap sakin.

The drinks is overflowing. Kahit saan yata ako lumingon ay ang daming nagseserve ng alak.

This is surely a Silva's Party. Grant being a brag of luxury.

But instead of usual gatherings, this party is so out of our normal. This feels so open and not so open at the same time. It makes me to freely move on my own without others checking me out.

Kumuha ako ng wine sa mga nag-iikot na nagseserve ng mga inumin. The main hall is jam-packed. It makes me think na nasa club ako kesa umaattend ng birthday party.

Is this really Grant's plan?

The volume of the people is suffocating me. Goodness. Buti na lang at kabisado ko itong lugar na ito. We once held our get-together here after naming makagraduate lahat ng college e. Sa likod ay may mga puno doon na malayo dito. And obviously, tahimik.

For sure, Grant will be there. Or Alli. Yung dalawang iyon lang naman ang ayaw sa madaming tao na gaya nito. Well, sa case ni Grant naman kasi ay lalabas lang iyon pag naghahanap na ito ng prospect na gusto nitong uwian. But since kasal na ito at si Jen, mukhang hindi na ito maghahanap pa ng ibang prospect nito.

And Alliston? Will she be here? I'm not even sure kung nakabalik na nga ito ng Australia. Baka nga sinabi lang nito iyon para makatakas sa galit ni Railey dahil sa ginawa nito.

Damn Alli. You put me in a hotspot. You should be here so I could smack your head. I clearly told you that I am still fulfilling our agreement. And fucks! I'm not a cradle snatcher! I just kissed her to shut her up.

"Are the people out there suffocating you too?"

Napalingon ako sa nagsalita. Hindi ko sya napansin dahil nakaupo pala ito sa damuhan. Tapos kakulay pa ng dress nito yung damo. She's wearing a dark green dress na hapit sa katawan. Hanggang tuhod lang iyon so I could clearly see her unusual perfect white skin.

"I'm sorry. I'll find another plac—"

"It's okay. You may keep me company. I snatch this from their collection." Medyo slurred na yung boses nito habang inaangat yung bote ng expensive brand ng whisky.

Seriously ganyan kabrag si Grant ngayon para maglabas ng ganyang mga alak in this occassion?

Well, it's her sister's birthday. So yeah. For sure.

"Have you been staying here kanina pa?" Umupo ako sa tabi nya at sumimsim sa hawak kong wine na kinuha ko kanina.

"Yeah. Sort."

Pasimple kong pinag-aralan yung itsura nito. But I can't clearly see her dahil medyo madilim dito. Bukod pa sa may suot din itong mask.

"This liquor is actually good." Tumawa pa ito. "Don't you want to try this?"
