The whine from the one-way radio jolted her from her dreamless sleep. Y/n immediately got out of bed, but moved slowly so no pain would flare up anywhere. That's the last thing she needed at the moment. And Jade had been so sweet and kind, the girls coming over to help and Jade just running herself ragged. A new baby was a lot, but Jade was an excellent mother. If Y/n is able to let Jade sleep a bit longer by getting her daughter, so be it. Woman deserved it.

Shuffling into her daughter's room, Y/n giggled when she saw her daughter's bright eyes staring back at her. "Someone's awake early. Couldn't wait until morning to see mommy, huh? It's okay princess, mommy and your mam Jade will always be there for you little bunny." After a quick diaper change, Y/n sat in the rocking chair, letting her daughter feed from her as Y/n hummed softly.

What she didn't know was that Jade woke up a few minutes after her wife, and listened to the baby monitor, smiling at her wife's words. But what surprised her the most is when Y/n started to sing. And it wasn't like Jade never heard her wife sing, the woman was a famous singer after all, but the song she started to sing. It was their song. The song that made them fall in love with each other with.

Y/n kissed her daughter's forehead, then carefully put her back in the crib, and tiptoed back to her room, but freaked when Jade was sitting up and crying. "Babe? What happened? Did you have a nightmare?" Y/n sat by her wife, pulling Jade into a tight hug, rubbing her back and reassuring her everything was gonna be okay.

"I heard you... you sang our song to Amelia... it was beautiful.. I'm sorry." Jade gave a watery laugh, that caused Y/n to let out a breath she was holding.

"Love, it's okay. You scared me though. And of course I would. I love you." The two share a kiss, Jade snuggling against her wife, wanting to get a few more hours before having to leave.

Right before Jade falls back asleep, Y/n whispers her name, causing the singer to look at her wife. "All at once everything is different, now that I see you..." she whispers. Jade gives a smile, a lone tear falling down her cheek before she falls asleep. Y/n cuddles closer to her, closing her eyes, following her wife into a dreamless sleep.
