I ran in silence for a while, thinking of everything that had happened since I woke up on the ship.

"Gon... Kat," Killua said, pulling me from my thoughts.

"Yeah?" Gon and I answered in sync.

"Let's try to move to the front,"

"Right. The last thing we wanna do is lose sight of the examiner," Gon replied.

I shook my head, "I don't think that's what he meant,"

"Yeah, I just wanna put more distance between Hisoka and us. Staying too close is dangerous, I can smell it." Killua muttered.

"Smell, huh?" Gon sniffed the air, "I don't think he smells. Hey, Leorio, Kurapika! Killua says we should move to the front of the pack!"

"Hey... calm down. Don't you fell the tension in the air?"

Kurapika and Leorio said that they'd meet us there later so we started moving to the front. I could hear the distant screams of the applicants that were fooled when suddenly, we were swallowed by a frog. I yelped as my vision went dark.

I heard a can being opened and the frog vomited all three of us. "Gross," I said, face scrunched up in disgust.

"I guess he might've not liked the way we tasted, huh?" Gon laughed nervously.

"It was this," Killua held up a can of Tonpa's juice.

After one more minute of talking, we got up to get going. I walked for a bit then noticed that Gon was gone. Of course, he went to look for Kurapika and Leorio

"I'll be back in a bit," I told Killua before running back.

I arrived at a clearing to see a knocked out Leorio and Hisoka choking Gon. With my Zetsu still activated, I held my sword and sneaked up behind Hisoka, positioning my blade on his neck, ready to kill him if need be. I noticed his eyes widen and for a second, I could've sworn I saw a hint of fear in them.

"Put him down, Hisoka, or I'll do it." I said in a low, threatening tone. He let go of Gon's neck and Gon fell to the ground, coughing and gasping for air. "Are you okay, Gon?"

He nods slowly and I removed my sword, putting it back around my waist. "Hmm... Your Zetsu is quite impressive, little girl. And I'll let you know that I wasn't going to kill him; he passed my test-- and you did, too."

I huffed in annoyance, "I'll get going then. I take it you can find your way back, Gon?"

"Yes, thank you, Kat."

I smiled at him, sent Hisoka a glare and ran back the way I came from, arriving at the site of the Second Phase in three minutes.

"Oi!" Killua called, walking over to me, "Where did you go? And do you know where Gon is?"

"Nice to see you too, Killua," I said sarcastically. "I went to save Gon's life from Hisoka, he should be coming back soon."

"Oka-- WAIT! YOU FOUGHT HISOKA AND CAME BACK ALIVE?" He yelled.

"Lower your voice, dumbass." I hissed, " And yes, I fought him and I could've easily killed him, but I didn't-- partially because Gon is too innocent to see me behead someone,"

We walked around waiting for Gon to arrive. Ugh, what's taking him so long? Hisoka had already arrived with Leorio over his shoulder, he set him against a tree and sent me one of his signature smirks.

My head suddenly shot up, sensing two presences nearby-- Gon and Kurapika. "There they are!" I pointed.

Killua's head turned so quickly that I was surprised his neck didn't break. We walked over to to Gon, who was now talking to Leorio.
