Chapter 23

"Origin, on!"

My body shot up in the air and towards the starting point as the card that was in my hand disappeared. My feet hit the grassy field, the sun beaming down at me, I looked around and saw new players walking around or waiting for their allies. Many eyes were on me as I spotted a green outfit and went towards him.

I smirked mischievously as I snuck up behind him, tapped his right shoulder and then moved to his left. Gon jumped up in alarm and his eyes flickered towards me. "Kat! Why did you do that?"

"I felt like it," I shrugged and flopped myself down to sit next to him.

"How's the game?"

"It's gonna be more fun now that you and the others are here, though I did have some company earlier."

"Huh, who?"

"Phinks and Feitan --don't freak out! They saw me walking in one of the towns and started following me because, apparently, Chrollo had once told the Troupe to train me if they ever got the chance, so that's what they did."

"Sometimes I wonder how you're still alive," Gon shook his head, "Do you know who's watching us?"

"No one important, just a bunch of cowards who target newbies. Oh look, there's Mitsuba!" I got up quickly and headed to my friend, smiling at her. "Hey!"

"Hi. Blaise is coming in after me, she should be here any minute now."

A promised, my twin walked down the stairs and out the small building after a few minutes, Killua entering the game after her. After some quick introductions, our group started walking on the field as Killua asked Gon about Ging and the two discussed something. I was busy asking Mitsuba about her ability and her refusing to tell me just yet, saying she wanted to show me later.

Suddenly, someone came toward us from the sky using a spell card with his book open. Gon and Killua were instantly on guard as I leisurely stood to the side, watching the scene in front of me.

"Let me guess, this is your first time playing, huh?"

"Who knows? You must be a player, you're carrying a book."

"Ya think?" The dude did some things with his binder, probably using a 'Peek' card with a smirking face. I zoned out until he pulled out a card from his book, so I summoned my own binder.

"Trace on! Attack Killua!" "Reflect on!"

My defensive spell card reflected and sent the spell back at him, making him the victim of his own card. Pulling out an 'Accompany' card, I smirked, "Idiot. Accompany, on! Antokiba!"

Gon, Killua, Blaise, Mitsuba and myself were sent to the Town of Prizes. Once we landed, I answered their questions before they asked them and explained what that was about. Blaise briefly explained to them the concept of Spell Cards.

The two boys and Mitsuba went to have a look at the contests and prizes while Blaise stayed beside me. 

"Have you mastered using your fire, Shorty?"

"I'm not short!"

"Sure you aren't," I smirked, patting her head, which only reached up to my shoulders. "So, your ability?"

"Yeah, I did. I'm getting the hang of using smoke pretty quickly, but earth is a bit harder. I can also conjure a scythe out of my fire, I just need more training with it."

"I can help in that department; I am a swords master, after all. We'll start after Bisky starts training Gon and Killua, maybe Mitsu, too. Aren't you going to go with them to a contest?"
