I reached Zaban City, tired from all the running. I had used Nen to increase my speed to get here. I leaned against the side of a building to catch my breath. After five minutes, my breath became steady and I walked around town, observing the place.

When I finally found the small restaurant, I opened the door and got in.

A waitress was standing beside the chef and walked to me, asking, "Hello. How can I help you?"

I racked my brain, trying to remember the password until it finally came to my mind. "Uh... Can I have the steak combo that will make me see the light?"

The chef looked over at me with narrowed eyes, "How do you want it cooked?"

With a smirk, I replied with, "Grilled slowly over a low flame until done. I'll have it in the back room." The chef nodded at the woman and she led me towards the back room and turned to leave but I stopped her. "Can I please have a cup of water? I ran all the way here,"

She smiled at me and nodded. She came back with a big glass of cold water and I downed it with a with a thank you.

The door to the room closed and I sat in one of the chairs, waiting for the elevator to stop. When it finally did and the doors opened, I exited the lift to be met with all the stares of other applicants, most of them muttering about me.

I felt uncomfortable under all the eyes before a small green man came up to me with a badge. "Hello, please take your number badge, thank you." He handed me one. #402 huh? He handed the others their badges, "Please be sure to wear this on your chest at all times and be careful not to lose it."

I put it on as the man left. I walked over to a pipe on the wall and jumped on it, sitting down and making myself comfortable. I took off my backpack; I never had a chance to see what was inside. I opened it and looked through its contents. Some extra clothes, a water bottle, a book, a phone and earbuds along with a small box of chocolate.

I pulled out the book in my bag and started reading to pass the time, barely noticing a fat man with a square nose walking towards me. Tonpa. Oh, well. Time to crush the Rookie Crusher.

"Hello, you're new here, aren't you?" Tonpa said with a fake smile, standing in front of me.

I looked up from my book innocently. "Yeah, this is my first time trying the Hunter Exam."

"Well, my name is Tonpa. I have tried the exam thirty five times before, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask me."

I nodded my head, "Sure! My name's Katerina, nice to meet you." I felt like gagging. By now, I could feel multiple pairs of eyes on me.

"Here, take this as a token of our friendship." He handed me a can of juice and I took it.

"Thank you, Tonpa-san" I sent him a mischievous smile and stood up, opening the can, "But I really don't like getting poisoned. Do I look like an idiot to you?" I said coldly, his mouth was hanging slightly open and I took this chance to drain the poisoned juice down his mouth.

He spit out some of it, most he had already gulped down enough. He ran to a corner and tried to vomit it all out. I heard people snickering or full out laughing, but the person who caught my attention is Hisoka, who was smiling creepily in my direction, licking his lips.

I shivered. Picking up my bag, I walked away towards another wall to continue reading. I sensed another person approaching me so I looked up to see none other than the white-haired assassin, Killua.

He plopped himself down next to me and smiled, "Hey. I just wanted to say that what you did with that fat man was quite amusing. I really didn't expect it,"
