Chapter 24

Katerina and Blaise scoffed, "I'd like to see you try,"

Ice covered Katerina's arms while Blaise's arms got coated with fire. They smirked at each other then turned to Genthru with a glare. He raised his hands, ready to use his ability. Bisky sat down on one of the stone steps, wanting to watch the fight go down. The other men who were there looked on with worry and panic, trying to stop the twins from doing anything crazy and Mitsuba sat down next to Bisky, knowing full well that the two could handle themselves.

"You wanna go first, Blaise?" Kat asked, glancing at the shorter girl. 

"Sure. Here I come, old man." Blaise ran towards the Bomber and front flipped over his head, letting her hands touch his hair and setting it on fire before landing behind him gracefully. Genthru's eyes widened and he started patting his hair frantically, trying to put it out. He sighed in relief then glared at Blaise.

"That's some neat trick--" He was cut off when something cut his cheek, which felt extremely cold. Ice started spreading around the small wound and he felt himself start tiring out, even though he didn't even do anything yet.

Katerina laughed at his bewildered expression, "What, don't tell me you're tired already? The fight didn't even start," She walked past him and her fingers skimmed his right arm, letting ice cover the area she touched, effectively immobilizing it. 

"What the hell? Who are you two?"

"I think you already realized that you can't beat us in your state. So, why don't you just leave the game, never come back, and we'll stop here." Blaise suggested nicely, only for Genthru to garb her arm and a small explosion took place. She hissed, looking at the charred skin then back at the man in anger. She let her injured arm fall to her side and a fiery throwing knife appeared in her other hand. She expertly threw it at his shoulder, where the blade embedded itself and burned some of his skin. "Kat, you can sit this one out; I wanna fight alone."

Katerina shrugged with a playful smirk on her lips, "But I'm butting in if you start losing."

"Fair enough,"

Genthru was clutching his shoulder when his arm and cheek defrosted, the ice completely disappearing. He grinned maniacally and ran towards Blaise, sending a roundhouse kick towards her. The purplette seemingly disappeared from sight and reappeared behind Genthru, unscathed. She went to chop his neck to knock him out, but he managed to dodged it by a hair.

White smoke started exiting Blaise's body and she controlled it to look like an arm. The hand shot towards Genthru and he jumped up to avoid it, though he didn't expect the smoke to change direction and continue going after him. Smoke fingers wrapped around his body, securing his arms to his sides tightly. 

He struggled and tried to get out of the giant hand but to no avail. Genthru began to panic as he was lowered to the ground in front of Blaise. "You can't fight against smoke?" The girl taunted him, "This is almost too easy."

Bisky watched in interest, giving the fight her full attention with a somewhat creepy smile on her face. The other men that were there had wide eyes and their jaws were to the floor. "The ones who have bombs on them, get a move on and get rid of them already. Touch him and say, 'I caught the Bomber.'" Katerina urged them, the corner of her lips lifting up as she saw the man who led them there walk towards the blond man.

Her head snapped up and in less than a second, a Nen ice blade passed inches away from Blaise's head.

"ARE YOU TRYING TO KIL--" The red-eyed twin yelled, turning to glare at her sister, when she was cut off by someone letting out a pained hiss from behind her. She whipped around and her eyes landed on a redhead standing there. He looked like he was about to attack her before Katerina shot her knife. A small trail of blood was going down the side of his neck over a thin layer of ice. 

"Be more careful, Blaise. He almost got you," Katerina looked at her pointedly. The smoke around Genthru dissipated and he got out of the iron grip of the gas. "And don't lose your concentration! You're strong, but barely have any fighting experience!" She pursed her lips, concentrating her aura in a spot under the blond man's feet and he froze in his place. Literally.

"As much as I hate it, you're right. That's why I'm fighting right now. God knows we're gonna need strength and experience in the near future." Blaise said, muttering the last part, and Katerina knew exactly what she meant. The flame elemental turned towards Sub, wondering what the hell he was doing here so soon. "Deactivate your ability and let me deal with him completely alone, Kat."

Katerina sighed but complied, letting the ice disappear from the man's neck. "Mitsuba, try to deal with the other one, he's behind that building." She jabbed her finger in the direction of a building behind them.

"So you noticed him? I'm impressed," Bisky commented, "I'm gonna go now, good luck." The blonde waved, walking away.

After Bisky was out of sight, Blaise focused her attention on Sub, who had stood up. "I hope you're ready to have you ass kicked," 

The redhead growled and ran at her, she sidestepped and pulled her arm back, punching him in the gut with some Nen. The physical attack didn't do much damage due to the defensive Ken Sub had used on his stomach at the last second. He grabbed Blaise's arm and yanked her forwards so he could punch her, not expecting his fist to receive second degree burns because of that.

The purplette kneed him in the stomach then proceeded to roundhouse kick his head, Nen coating her leg. Sub ducked at the last second, moving to the right to avoid the hit only to be met with an earth wall. Another kick was sent his way and made his head roughly collide with the stone, effectively knocking him out cold.

"That was faster than expected," Katerina commented, looking mildly impressed.

Blaise huffed, but a small amount of pride bloomed in her chest at being indirectly complimented by her older, stronger sister. "I'm not that hopeless, y'know!"

A/N: Long time no see, guys. Sorry for not updating for a while, I had school and a sudden inspiration for a new book that I just started writing, kinda forgetting about this one for a bit *rubs the back of my neck sheepishly*.
