Sophie spluttered. "Bangs Boy?!" she asked incredulously. "You have got to be joking."
Tam and Keefe glared at each other, completely serious.

Tam rolled his eyes. "He's the source of all of my "Foster" knowledge." He waved a hand sarcastically in Keefe's direction as if saying, Come one, come all, view the illustrious Keefe.

Keefe glared. Tam glared back. "Okay!" Sophie said, attempting to cut through all of the tension in the air. "So! Is Linh here?"  she asked, desperately.

"Hey!" Keefe said, ignoring her, and addressing Tam. "I'm not the one who--"

"Sophie!" Sophie heard a voice ring out. It was Linh. Hallelujah. Sophie thought, relieved.

"Hi, Linh!" Sophie said, and Linh beamed back. "So, how has the new job been?"

Linh's face lit up even brighter. "Oh, I love it!" she gushed. "The animals are so cute! But . . . you might not want to ask Tam that same question."
Sophie giggled. "I think I know what his answer would be, so don't worry, I won't."

Tam leaned sideways until Linh and Sophie could see him. "I'm right here, you know." he said, glaring.

Linh laughed, and Sophie joined in, despite herself.  "Well," Sophie said. "I'm here to help Edaline with the animals, but I could use some backup."

Linh nodded happily, and Keefe saluted in her general direction, but he was still busy shooting glares every now and then at Tam. Tam just groaned.

"I refuse to go near any animals." he scowled stubbornly. Keefe just grinned, reached over, and grabbed a shovel.

"Good, Tammy Boy, good!" he said, a mischievous look on his face. "'Cause that means that you're on poop scooping duty."

He tossed Tam the shovel, and Tam glared. "No." he said. "Absolutely not."

"You could always feed Beckith." Linh commented innocently. Tam wheeled around dramatically, and squinted daggers in their direction as he grabbed the shovel, Keefe doubling over in laughter, slapping his knees, and pretending to wipe tears.

When Sophie turned around and raised an eyebrow  at him, he straightened immediately. "A pity." he said, shaking his head sympathetically. When he thought Sophie had turned around again, he snickered behind his hand.

As Linh walked ahead, Sophie raised an eyebrow at Keefe. "I don't trust him!" Keefe said, defensive. He leaned in, feigning a whisper. "Someone needs to tell Bangs Boy that the role of troublemaker with daddy issues, is already taken."

Linh suppressed a smile, clearly having heard Keefe's mini rant. Sophie made a left turn, leading Linh and Keefe into the barn's round gate. Keefe started to climb a random fence off to the side of the barn, just to show off, and Linh and Sophie panicked.

"Keefe!" they yelled in sync. "Don't hop that fence!"

Keefe smirked leisurely. "Oh, please." he said cockily. "I'm a natural at hopping fences."

Sophie shook her head, fearing for Keefe's life. "Beckith will eat you alive."

Keefe snorted. "Who's Beckith? Your demon goat?"

                                    "Yes."  Linh and Sophie chorused.

"Seriously." Linh continued. "There's pretty much only one reason that Tam got this job.  I'm pretty sure that he is the only person alive, that can even get near  Old Beckith."

Keefe cracked up. "Come on, Old Beckith?!" he said, in awe. "You can't be serious. Wait 'till I tell Bangs Boy! "The Mysterious Goat Whisperer!" Keefe actually wiped tears of mirth.

Suddenly, a new voice spoke. "You can try." Tam was propped against the corner, looking very . . .  shady.

Keefe, Sophie and Linh all jumped. "Dude!" Keefe exclaimed. "Don't do that. How long have you even been there?!"

Tam smirked. "That's for me to know, and you to find out. Or, just for me to know."

Keefe just grinned. "Whatever. I'm going in this pen, and I know  Beckith is going to love me. I mean come on, Foster. Even your fat little horse loves me!"

"She's not fat!" Sophie protested. "She's just . . . athletically challenged. And you don't want to mess with Beckith. Seriously."

Keefe smirked, and dramatically whipped off his Adidas Jacket, tossing it to Tam. He grinned, and hopped into the pen. Tam "accidentally" dropped the jacket onto the dusty ground.

Keefe jumped into the pen, and walked around, doing a little dance, as if to say, Look at me! I'm not eaten yet!  Tam casually held up his phone and clicked the record button, a mischievous smirk on his face.

Suddenly, the kids heard a loud trip-trap of hooves. Beckith. She walked out from the barn, and into the round pen.  "Gahh!" Keefe shouted. "Gahh" was right. Beckith was a mixture of tans and browns, and was very fluffy. Cute, right? That's until you saw her eyes. Bright blue and wide, she just stared with malicious intent. She seemed to be glaring the soul out of Keefe.

"Nice goat!" Keefe said, backing away nervously. "Nice, little, fluffy, scary--"  Keefe let out a loud yelp. It was like a scene from a movie. Only, Keefe was an average citizen, and Beckith was a well trained rodeo bull. Beckith chased Keefe down, and Keefe tried to climb the fence and make a break for it. Beckith leaped. Actually  leaped, and tried to take a bite out of Keefe's leg. Luckily for Keefe, all she got was a mouthful of athletic sweatpants.

Keefe wheeled around. "HEY!" he shouted. "Those were expensive!" His anger quickly turned to fear, as Beckith tried to leap up again, and Keefe wasted no time. He some how managed to jump the fence, and though he skidded on the dirt, he somehow made it look impressive. He turned to the camera, and saluted. Of course. Though, as soon as the camera turned off, he panted, fear haunting his eyes.

Silence. Linh, Tam and Sophie burst out into laughter. They cracked up and laughed and laughed and laughed. Keefe grinned.

"I can't believe you didn't warn me!" he said.

"Keefe."  The other three chorused, shaking their heads.

Yesssssssssssss!!!! XDDD I love that so much. Tysm for reading!!!
