Thank you @MelodyClare87 for giving me permission and describing her Orange side Sombra/Guilt

Julius= The King

Insecurity AU

When the twins had split, Romulus had felt...not anxious, but strange. Questioning. He had grasped onto his brother's hand and a reassuring squeeze back.

The two children looked strange. They looked exactly like the other sides, but if you looked at them, you would think they were related.

Romulus had kept his eyes trained on the ground, it didn't feel right to lift them. Not yet. Maybe not ever.

Romulus' outfit definitely had parallels to Remus', but he had red and gold rather than silver and green.

He heard a bold voice ask them, "Who are you two?"

Romulus raised his eyes slightly and saw a sort of dark-ish light-ish orange cloak.

"'M Romulus." He said first because Remus must've been thinking about something.

Remus burst out a disturbing fact before introducing himself, "It would take 1,200,000 mosquitoes, each sucking once, to completely drain the average human of blood. I'm Remus."

"Interesting," The side said, "I'm Guilt, but you may call me Sombra."

Another voice joined in, it was smooth and sort of posh. The atmosphere seemed to tense between the two sides.

"Who are these two?" The second voice said, slightly hissing with 's'.

"Hello Janus. Julius split. These two are the result."

"Ah. I see" Janus' voice was slightly bitter, but Romulus wasn't sure why.

"Split? Julius? What?" Remus blurted out, mirroring exactly what Romulus was thinking.

After a short summary, yellow man Janus asked Romulus, "Why don't you lift your face? We all have the same one.

Romulus instincts made him tense when he lifted his gaze to face the snake-like face and immediately regretted it.

Janus' whole body stiffened and he looked like he was panicking. Romulus himself panicked and clutched Remus's hand tighter. He snapped his gaze back down.

He felt a hand on his shoulder, and raised his eyes slightly. It was Sombra. Or Orange Man.

"The main sides are coming. I don't think they would react well to it." He told the twins, picking up Romulus while Janus picked up Remus.

Time Skip brought to you by me expressing an opinion before my sister shuts it down-

Romulus could hear Sombra and Janus discussing about the weird thing about his eyes. Remus thankfully was distracting him from listening by spouting some disturbing facts. Romulus clutched his fantasy book tighter and came up with some random rhymes.

Minutes later, Sombra and Janus came out from the room. Sombra sat next to Romulus and gave a sort of long strip of cloth.

"Try that."

He took the cloth and put it around his eyes, his clumsy fingers making a messy knot to tie the fabric. It was surprisingly easy to see and he allowed himself to look directly at Sombra's face.

He burst into a smile, because it worked! Sombra wasn't reacting, just smiling slightly.

Remus smiled and said happily, "Well now bro can see us without making us do the weird crying thing."

Romulus cringed. He almost forgot about the incidents where he looked at Remus, and Remus had started bawling.

He hadn't been assigned a specific costume, nor a role, but the sides believed the two were both Creativity.

They also dubbed Romulus as 'Insecurity' and Remus as 'Intrusive Thoughts' so he guessed that the others knew after watching them. He wondered if they thought he was too loud or too quiet. Would they send him away if he was?

He dismissed those thoughts and smiled.
