Chapter 15: Theme Parks

The next day, Shuichi called Ouma again after much frustration on whether he was just a burden and an inconvenience on his friend. He had fun yesterday with Ouma and his friends, eating ice cream. But Ouma-kun agreed and was now sitting with him on the couch sipping some tea and eating cookies Saihara had in the cupboard.

"Good to see you're not laying in bed moping today, that's progress~" Kokichi hummed as he set the teacup down again "Do you want to go out and hang out at home together? There's a theme park nearby we could go to if you want" Shuichi looked at him nervously. Ouma looked like he wanted to go to the theme park...He would be unhappy if he chose to stay at home.

"I-I know you want to go so I'll-" he started only to get interrupted by Ouma placing a finger to his lips, a pouty look on his face.

"Eyyy! Shuichi what did I say about?" he said. Shuichi looked at him confused, blushing slightly from the contact.

"About what?" he asked. Ouma puffed out his cheek.

"Doing things just because another person told you they wanted to." Kokichi said. Ah, so that's what he was referring to. He clutched onto the fabric

"What I want matters too...?"

"Good memory! Now repeat it because you didn't hear yourself say it the first time" Kokichi huffed holding Saihara's hands. Shuichi kinda chuckled.

"What I want matters?" He said again. Ouma smiled.

"There you go! Again!"

"What I want matters."

"Again!"

"What I want matters!"

"So do you want to go to the theme park or watch Good Girls on Netflix!?"

"Theme park!"

"There we go! You've decided it all on your own because that's what you wanted! Let's go then!" Kokichi said. Shuichi smiled. It indeed felt..good to say that. They got in Saihara's car and chose to go to the theme park. As the two entered the park and walked up to a map showing the locations Ouma looked at him.

"Where first then?" he asked. Shuichi hummed.

"Arcade games...?" he said. Ouma smiled and nodded taking his hand and leading him to the arcade games area. It was full of things such as shooting games, air hockey, dancing games, claw machines, and racing games. It reminded him of when he was a kid.

"What's your favorite arcade game Saihara-chan?" Kokichi asked

"Probably Air Hockey or the shooting games." he said. A grin spread on Ouma's face.

"I LOVE shooting games too! I'm good at them! Or could that be a lie? Let's find out!" Kokichi said dragging Shuichi over to the stand with a shooting duck game. The two played the game and Shuichi laughed at how competitive Ouma could get. He was a good player at the game which made Shuichi think he played them a lot. It fit his child-like personality.

After winning some arcade tickets, the two grabbed some prizes from the counter (A plushie for Shuichi and a kitty cap for Ouma) the two ate some cotton candy before heading to another attraction.

The rollercoasters.

However after a few Ouma noticed Shuichi was getting a bit overwhelmed by the constant ride, so they settled for something calmer next.

The Ferris Wheel.

The two sat down in their place just enjoying their presence. The Ferris Wheel stopped at the top and the two friends watched the sunset. Ouma looked over as he hesitantly placed his hand over Shuichi's. Saihara looked over at him and smiled. Ouma swore it took every muscle in his body to keep up his calm facade around this boy. Why was he so damn cute?!

He was snapped out of his trance when he heard Shuichi speak up.

"Ouma-kun I...I wanted to thank you. I've had such a fun time with you yesterday and today...and you've been so supportive so..thanks" he blushed slightly. Ouma giggled.

"I had fun with you too Saihara-chan...I...I always have fun around you. You're the most interesting person I've met" he admitted as Shuichi only smiled back. Ouma rested his on Shuichi's shoulder just enjoying the moment with his friend.

He felt a pang of sadness in his heart as the word friend could hardly describe the feelings he held for Saihara-chan. But it would have to do for now.
