POV: Mike

I am listening to Ally tell me something that I never thought I'd hear come from her mouth. I had my elbow resting on the table with my head in my chin and my fingers covering some of my face. This is stressing me.

"I just miss her Mike, and the way she looked at me last night was just too much for me and- you're pissed." Ally stopped when she saw the blank expression on my face.

"You want to go back to someone who cheated on you, denied it, demanded sex from you, and was horrible to you afterwards, and has an alcohol problem. Is that what I am hearing?" I slowly blinked.

"When you put it like that it doesn't sound as good." Ally looked at her shoes.

"When I put it like that I am saying the truth. You want to go back to her because of the memories. If I went back to an ex just because of the memories we made I'd be in deep shit. You miss the memories. Not the girl. You miss the ways she did things. Not the girl. Other girls are capable of doing that. Catie needs help, and it can't come from you. She has to get it on her own. She has to want it." I'm pretty sure my face was getting red in anger.

Ally stayed silent.

"I can't control what you do, but I think it's a horrific idea that will just hurt you even more in the end. I mean, the girl showed up to a game shit faced and tried to play. You think you can fix that without her truly wanting it? Do you really think that?"

"I-" she searched for words for a second. "I don't know."

"You do know Ally. You know that you can't fix everyone, especially when you need fixing yourself. You're healing too. You are getting help too. How can you do both? You can't fix yourself and another person at the same time. You're also making yourself more susceptible to getting hurt by being weak right now. What if she took advantage of that?" I kept hitting her with facts, and although it was hurting her, she needed to hear them.

"I know." She whispered and looked at her feet.

"If you want to get in a relationship where they are willing to help you, be there for you, and care for you, you need to find someone who is mature, has their feet under them, and is strong on their own. You can't go to someone who can't take care of themselves on their own." (A/N: my brother has literally told me this before, and yes his name is Mike, that's who the character is based off of. There's a fun fact) I watched her digest what I was telling her.

"Can you hug me?" Ally looked at me with tears running down her face.

"You don't have to ask." I got up from my seat and walked over to her, pulling her into a much needed hug.

She broke down in my arms and clutched onto me for dear life.

"I've got you, kiddo. I've got you." I hushed her.

We stayed like that for a bit before I was able to get her to go to bed. She had another long day. Catie had been trying to talk to her again. She was able to ignore her and shut her down, but I could tell that she couldn't for much longer. Catie was making her weak again. Something Ally cannot afford right now.

I have to get her to get some bloodwork done here soon. She also needs an EKG to see how strong her heart is, because after all of the binging and purging there is no way there is enough nutrients in her body to keep her strong.

She's done this before. She knows how to hide it. She knows how to work with it.

POV: Ally

I told Maggie before I had told Mike. Maggie told me something pretty similar to what Mike said, but I needed to hear it from two people I guess. They were both disappointed and angry, and I couldn't say that I wasn't that with myself.
