Yn's POV

"Hey everyone! I brought doughnuts" I say and set the box down on my desk. "Doughnuts? What's the occasion" Erin asked me. "Maybe I just wanted to do something for you guys to show how much I appreciate each and every one of you" I say. "Yn? Are you feeling okay" Adam asked me. "Yeah. Why wouldn't I be" I ask. "Because I haven't seen you this happy in a long time. What's up" Adam asked. "Nothing. I've um, I've figured out what I want in life, and that's to be the best damn detective Chicago has ever seen. To do that, I need to have a great relationship with my coworkers, hence the doughnuts. Enjoy" I say and sit down at my desk.

"Hey. Can we talk" Jay asked me as everyone began chowing down. "Um, I was actually going to ask you the same thing. How about we meet up at Molly's when the case is over" I suggest. "That sounds great. There's some things we need to discuss" Jay said. "I know. Until then, lets just get through work without any hitches" I say as Voight entered the room, meaning it was time to discuss the new case.

"Melissa Wilds. Her husband was an Army private, and he was killed in a training exercise last year at Fort Bragg along with three others when their chopper went down" Erin said. "She had an associate's from Roosevelt and worked as a paralegal for the law firm Sawyer & Sawyer" Antonio said. "Yeah, I've seen those commercials. They're just high-profile ambulance chasers" Kevin said. "Bigger than that. They do seven-figure class action lawsuits against pharmaceutical companies or schools with asbestos" Antonio said. "Except for a few parking tickets, Melissa has zero priors. She's a working, widowed mom, so the more I'm digging here, I can't see any reason why she'd be associated with cartels or any Russians" Jay said. "This girl was tortured with barbed wire. That means the killer either wanted something from her, or it was personal. So I want to know where she was before we found her, who she was with, if she was seeing someone new. Hey, look who's here" Voight said.

I turned around to see Sean walk into the bullpen. Today was his last day at the district. Because of his injury, he couldn't be a cop anymore. Ivory Tower wanted to put him at a desk, but he declined and decided that he was going to move to San Diego where his brother lived. "Last day, huh" Jay asked. "Yep, this is it. Just clearing out my locker" Sean said. "We're all going to miss you" I say and give him a hug. "Yeah, well, I'm going to miss you guy too. Here, Kevin. I know you never passed a mirror you didn't like" Sean said and handed him a mirror. "Yeah, you know, I got to check my fade out around the clock" Kevin said. "And for you, Mouse, just in case they ever let you loose in the street" Sean said and handed him an extendable baton. "Are you kidding? Oh, I'm definitely using this on these bozos up here" Mouse said. "All right. I've got to make my last rounds. Bye everyone" Sean said. "Uh, Hank? Roger Simpson, Melissa's father, is downstairs" Erin said. "Al" Voight said. "We should start drawing straws" Al said and got up.

..............................................

That same day, we found out that Justin, Voight's son, knew Melissa, but he wasn't answering any calls or texts. We tracked his cell phone, and when Voight and Erin found his car, they found him tied up with barbed wire in his truck. He had also been shot. Currently, Justin was in the hospital, but none of us knew anything yet.

"Everybody needs to hold on real tight, and you all know what I mean. If at any point you're not comfortable with something, you come tell me" Antonio said as Voight entered the bullpen with a bag. "I want you to put word out to all your C.I.'s. This is $90,000 for any information on who did this to Melissa Wilds and my son" he said. "Hey, we've got this, Sarge. Don't you think you should be at the hospital" I ask. "All right, let me be clear. I don't need condolences. I need commitment from each of you. I'm going to do whatever it takes to find who did this. If anybody is not comfortable with that, then you should take the next couple of days off" Voight said.
