Yn's POV

"Jay! You're driving. Stop getting distracted" I tell Jay as he was driving us to the crime scene.

"I can't help that I have the most beautiful girlfriend in the world" Jay said and smiled.

"Mm. Well, I don't want to get into a car crash, so please, keep your eyes on the road" I retort.

"You know, sometimes we have these sweet moments, and then you always find a way to ruin them" Jay said.

"It's just the way I am. Take it or leave it Halstead" I say as we pulled up to the crime scene.

Kim, Adam, and Kevin were already there when we arrived, and now, we were just waiting for Hailey and Vanessa. They had been rooming together, so they usually came to work in the same car. Today was no different, because seconds later, they pulled up and walked over to us, and Jay handed Hailey a coffee.

"No, thanks, I'm good" Vanessa said.

"Sorry. Habit" Jay admitted.

"Here, Vanessa. You can have mine. Jay seems to have forgotten that I'm laying off coffee for a while" I say and hand her my cup.

"Any reason why" Vanessa asked me.

I shrugged. "It just doesn't taste as good anymore."

"Wait a minute. Are you pregnant? Are we going to have a Baby Halstead in a few months" Vanessa questioned.

At that moment, I stopped dead in my tracks, and Jay glanced over at me. For a few seconds, we just stared at each other. Jay was the first one to speak.

"Um, are you, I mean, could you be-" Jay stammered out.

"What? No. I'm not. I can't be" I answer.

"You sure? You don't sound so confident in your answer" Jay pointed out.

"I'm like 60% sure I'm not pregnant" I say.

"Wait. What about the other 40%" Jay asked me.

I ignored Jay's question and continued walking. "We've got a crime scene to investigate. Lets go."

"You never answered my question" Jay called out after me.

"I'm sorry. I can't hear you. I'm too busy doing my job" I shout back and walk over to Kim, everyone else joining me seconds later.

"What do we got" Hailey asked.

"Turf dispute. Corner boy was dealing south end of the courts. It sounds like he ran into another corner boy, this one dealing unsanctioned. Witnesses say they heard yelling and then gunshots" Jay explained.

"He's young" Vanessa said.

"Seventeen" Kim clarified. "Multiple GSWs. Torso, shin, back. Wild, sporadic shots. He was running. ID puts him living out in Maywood, so he was dealing a long way from home."

"Anything on the shooter" I Hailey questioned.

"Yeah, he's over here. The kids shot each other. Guns were still warm when paramedics and patrol rolled up" I say and lead everyone over to the second body where Adam and Kevin were standing.

"These boys were fighting to survive for the same territory. Both pulled out their guns, both dead at 17" Kevin said.

"No doubt Homicide's gonna rule this mutual combatants. Why'd they call us" Hailey aske.

"I don't know. We're guessing it's got to do with whatever the hell's going on over there" Adam spoke and gestured to where Voight and Crawford were talking hundreds of yards away.
