Yn's POV

"Bombshell. Just the cop I was looking for" Platt said as I entered the district.

"Sergeant, I've got a hot cup of coffee and a stack of paperwork waiting on my desk upstairs, so if you don't mind, I'd like to get to that" I say.

"Calm down and come over here, would ya" Platt said.

I groaned and walked over to the front desk. "What is it, Sarge?"

"Detective Chuckles left this for you" Platt said and handed me an envelope.

"Why is it already open" I ask.

"I may, or may not, have taken a peak. There's also something for you upstairs" Platt added.

"Well, thank you for this, Sergeant Platt. Have a good day at work" I say.

"You too, Ln. You too" Platt said to me as I walked to the stairs.

Once I got upstairs, I saw that on my desk was a velvet box, and I smiled to myself. What had my boyfriend done this time? I opened the envelope first which revealed a letter that read:

Dear Yn,

I saw this the other day, and as soon as I did, I immediately thought of you. I feel as if I don't do enough for you, so hopefully this will make up for our lack of dates and nights out recently. I love you.

Love, Jay

After putting down the letter, I turned to the box and took the top off. Inside of the box was a silver necklace. Attached to the necklace was a silver circle with a little pair of handcuffs hooked between the two sides. On closer inspection, I realized that there were words written on the circle reading "My heart belongs to a police officer." I smiled at the gift, wondering how I had gotten myself such an amazing boyfriend.

Just then, Jay walked up the stairs, and immediately, I ran over to him and jumped into his arms. I wrapped my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist, and he placed his hands on my butt to hold me up. Then, I kissed him like nobody was watching, which of course, no one was.

"I'm assuming you got the gift" Jay said.

"Yes, and I love it. Would you help me put it on" I ask.

Jay nodded and carried me over to my desk where he set me down. As he took the necklace out of the box, I pulled my hair up and out of the way. Right after I did that, Jay placed the necklace on my neck and clasped it in the back.

"There. Perfect" Jay said.

"The necklace definitely speaks the truth. My heart does belong to a police officer" I say.

.......................................

"All right, where are we at with the crime scene?" Voight asked.

"There's little from forensics. 9mms don't pop in our system, but OCD Tech ran Suggs' cell, and it confirms our theory" Antonio responded.

"Suggs sent two texts after he got off the phone with Cruz. 'This is no longer okay,' 'You have to meet me.' Both were sent to a burner that called Suggs back two minutes later" Adam added.

"Okay, so we know Suggs was born and raised in the housing project Aldrich Gardens. He has one prior as a juvenile, he was a low-level runner for the G Park Lords, but that's when he was 15. He's been clean ever since and then he joined the fire academy at 18" Kim said.

"He made a good life for himself too. I mean, he got every commendation possible from Chicago Fire, record number of saves for 66. The guy was a bona fide hero" I inform the team.
