Yn's POV

"Hey! I came as soon as I got the call. What's going on" I ask and rub the sleepiness out of my eyes. "You good? You look tired" Adam said to me. "Well, I was sleeping when I got your call. What's up" I ask. "We've got a new case. A police officer was shot and killed" Adam said. "All right, I'm going to go get some coffee" I tell him.

After I poured myself a cup of coffee, Antonio started presenting the case. "Anthony O'Sullivan. He grew up in Sauganash. Still lived there with his parents. He was class commander and graduated first of his class from the academy two months ago. Here, I only pulled our latest and greatest active threats to police" Antonio said. "Yeah, we got two white separatists aligned with two anti-government groups: Kevin said. "And our top six are bangers who attended a summit last month. Three West Side gangs were in attendance. They vowed to kill police officers for the killing of young black men" Jay said. "Word on the street is they had snipers on the roof last night" Erin said.

"Patrol still has no suspects. There was no 911 calls for shots fired. So we're thinking that the shooter used a flash suppressant and a silencer, and most likely was monitoring our radios" Adam said. "Nothing off ballistics. The bullet doesn't match a gun on file" Al said. Just then, Crowley walked upstairs and entered Voight's office. "So start narrowing. Who has access to a gun, who's online spewing hate. I don't care if that crime scene was licked clean. There's a path that leads straight to that balcony" Voight said and walked into his office, closing the door behind him.

"Hey, man, Jeremy at the State's Attorney's office has been running his mouth. He said that you're taking a job over there as their lead investigator? Is that true" Erin asked Antonio. "I did take the job" Antonio said. "What" Jay asked. "Yeah. I start Monday. I was going to tell you guys earlier, but uh, this case happened. Come on, we got work to do" Antonio said. While Voight was talking to Crowley, Adam and I found something. "Sarge? We got a pop off cell towers at the shooting site" Adam said. "Booker Ford. He's on our short list. Associated with the corner hustlers. CPIC's got him pinged for making online threats towards the police. He's got a failure to appear warrant out on him, and his cell hit the tower within two hours of shooting" I say. "Ruzek, you, Atwater, and Halstead hit it" Voight said.

When Jay, Adam, and Kevin brought Booker back, I sensed something off. "Hey. You okay" I ask Jay after I noticed him wince in pain after moving his shoulder. "Booker slammed a door on it" Jay said. "Come on. Lets get you some ice" I say. Once I had gotten some ice, I brought Jay into the locker room. "You're uh, you're going to need to take your shirt off" I say, my face flushing a bright shade of pink. "Oh. Right" Jay said and took off his shirt. My eyes drifted down to Jay's toned abs, but only for a quick second. I pressed the two bags of ice against both sides of his shoulder, and I could tell right away that Jay was feeling a bit better.

After icing Jay's shoulder, we both headed back into the bullpen. "A pod caught the truck leaving the alley right after the shooting. It was the only vehicle to do so within our window. Next thing we know, this traffic light snaps the truck two miles away" Kevin said. "I ran the plates. It was stolen from an auto park in Downers Grove ten months ago. Tact team found it parked one block north, and they're still sitting on it" Adam said. "All right, take it. Grab Lindsay as well" Voight said.

........................................

"Right down there. The car's parked at the tail end of a dead end alley. No one's approached" Kim said. "Did you see any movement inside the vehicle" Jay asked. "No. Plain clothes walked by. Car looks cold" Kim replied. "Looks like he ditched it. We almost missed it back there. We'll approach with you, just in case he's in there laying low" Officer Riley said. "All right. Let's go" Erin said.

We all approached the car with our guns drawn. "Chicago PD! Anybody in the car, come out with your hands up" Eric said. Just then, a static noise filled the air. "Is that your radio" Jay asked Adam. "I think so, yeah" Adam replied. Jay then grabbed his own radio and turned it on. It produced the same static as Adam's. "Wait, wait. Hold up. Something doesn't feel right. Erin, check your radio" Jay said. Before Erin could do that, a shot rang out, and Officer Riley fell to the floor, blood gushing from a bullet wound right in the center of her forehead.
