Yn's POV

"Hey guys. How was the rip" I ask. "My heart is pumping so fast right now. That was the most amazing thing I have ever done" Jay said. "Sorry you missed it Yn" Antonio said. "No worries" I say. "Sarge, that club manager, he's talking" Kevin said and led us to his computer. "We've also got a wire up on Trenton's phone, and we got eyes right there on the club through the mini-cam that we planted across the street." "Blue. We got hit" Trenton said. "The police" Blue asked. "No. A crew. Dudes were all blacked out. They had on masks. They got the 20 keys" Trenton said. "All right, put on a street award. Ten grand to any hype who coughs up this crew. You don't got a name by morning, it's on you" Blue said and hung up. "All right, keep listening. Make your overtime" Voight said to Kevin.

"Trenton Bostaph, the club manager, has no priors. Not even a parking ticket" I say. "So, aside from operating a heroin lab, he's also a boy scout" Jay said. "That's because Trenton's low level. He answers to this guy, Blue. Which is an adorable nickname I've put through the known offenders database. The most popular nickname is 'Shorty.' Second most popular nickname is Blue. So it's going to take a little while to narrow it down" Adam said. "What do we have on the wire" Voight asked.

"Trenton's been making a lot of calls to this blue cat trying to buy himself some time" Kevin said. "Those 20 kilos are almost two million street value. Trenton's got two choices. He could hop a bus and disappear or get dead. He knows it. I say we bring him in now, flip him, have him reel in Blue" Antonio said. "Bring him in" Voight said to Antonio and I.

Antonio and I got Trenton and put him in the interview room. "Drugs? All I deal is fantasy. I'll give you guys coupons. You can come check it out sometime" Trenton said. "Oh, yeah" I ask. "Maybe get you up on stage. You'd win amateur night hands down" Trenton said to me. "Would I" I ask and take Trenton's cup of water, dumping it onto his pants. "Hey" he shouted. "We heard you got robbed last night" Antonio said. "I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't report any robbery" Trenton said. "Do you think you're going to find the crew who ripped you off" Antonio asked and showed Trenton the mask he wore to rob him. "Those 20 keys of Passion, they're on ice in our evidence locker." "Feel like talking now" I ask.

"I just manage the joint upstairs. I make sure the stuff gets cut downstairs and Blue breaks me off a salary for both" Trenton said. "Who's Blue" Antonio asked. "I don't know his real name. From what I know, Blue's their street captain. Muscle. If I've got problems, I call him" Trenton said. "You're going to set up a meet. Tell him you were robbed by some outlaws" Antonio said. "Bikers" Trenton asked. "It sounds like a great cover story to me. He'll buy it. The outlaws are the only ones crazy enough to rip you off. Besides us" Antonio said. "If we cut you loose, nobody's going to believe your story anyway. You got robbed by a bunch of cops? And then you owe some very bad men two million. Make the call, bring us Blue, and we'll talk to the state's attorney for you" I say and pass Trenton his phone.

With the meeting, we were able to get Blue, and we put him in the cage in the garage. "Blue, do you have a real name" Jay asked. "Barack Obama" Blue replied. "Oh, I wasn't prepared for this. It's an honor. Mr. President, we know that you're part of a heroin ring that runs out of Angels strip club" Adam said. "What heroin" Blue asked. "Come on, man. We've got you on a wire" I say. "Yeah. Trenton was the front man, he got ripped off. He was on the hook, and you had orders to either get back the dope or you were going to kill him. What we want to know is who gives you the orders" Jay said.

"Or, that 20 kilos we ripped from the club. What do you think, Jay? We say we found it in his trunk? Send you up for 30 years" Adam said. "I'm not some corner boy that's just going to flip. What I am is hungry. So how about you go fetch me a sandwich" Blue said to me and smiled. I smiled back before punching him in the face. "So, you're one of those 'cult of domesticity' believers? Guess what, asshole. I don't work for you or any other man. Get comfy" I say to him.

"Tell me" Voight said as we got upstairs. "He's not going to flip. I'm going to call the state's attorney, get an I.D, and charge Blue with attempted homicide" Jay said. "No. Not yet. You charge him, word will get out on the street. Just keep him chained in the cage, make sure his cell phone's charged, we'll wire tap it, see what we get" Voight said. "I'll get a warrant" Erin said.

That night, two guys held Al's wife hostage, and their demand was that they get all of the dope we stole. Voight and Al worked out a plan, and one of the guys got killed, but the other one we had in custody. We also tried talking to Blue again, but he didn't give us anything.

"Okay, these guys got protection. The question is, how high up" Voight said. "I think I've got a pretty good idea. The prints came back on our offenders. Blue's real name is Carl Johnson. The guys that showed up at Al's house, they're actually brothers. A.K.A. The Gary brothers. Jamal and Jesse Seeley, originally from Gary, Indiana, known psychopaths, all three of these guys. Rap sheets a mile long. Manslaughter, assault, possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, they should've been put away a long time ago" Adam said.

"Who defended them" I ask. "Now that's just it. They all had public defenders. One thing that they have in common is a judge. Judge Darren Lachlan presided over all their cases" Adam said. "Lachlan? He was named in an FBI sting a few years back. Taking bribes to fix cases. Two judges went down, but he escaped" Antonio said. "All right, taking bribes is one thing but are we saying we think a judge is the silent partner in a heroin ring" Erin asked. "I mean, I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory so I called to the state's attorney's office. Guess who requested to review our wire tap just yesterday" Adam said.

"You know, my name was on that paperwork for that seizure. So he'd have access to that and my home address" Al said. "Now, hold on, if we're going after a judge, I'm going to need a hell of a lot more than speculation" Voight said. "I looked into his financials. Actually, I didn't. A graffiti artist I busted works at Kinko's, total hacker. He did, and it looks like our judge has a stash house, boss. It's a two million dollar brownstone. Purchased through a shell company owned by Lachlan. I'm pretty sure his wife doesn't know about it" Adam said.

..................................

"Do you realize the mess you're making" Commander Fischer asked once we had Judge Lachlan in custody. "Judge Lachlan is our main suspect" Voight said. "Judge? Suspect? Only the feds use those two words in the same sentence" Fischer said. "If you buy us some time, we will hang him" Voight said. "Not only are you out of time, but you're out of an investigation. I want Judge Lachlan released immediately" Fischer said. "Uh, excuse me, Commander. I've been running the call histories on the Gary brothers' cell phones. One of them had a call to a hard line at the superior court on 26th and Cal yesterday" Kevin said. "Were they calling Judge Lachlan" Fischer asked. "No, sir. The branch clerk, Evan Lormer" Kevin replied. "We roll in five" Voight said.

We found Ecan Lormer just as he was about to leave work, and in the trunk of his car was a whole lot of cash. He was currently in the interview room being talked to by Jay and Erin. He told us that he was the one in charge, so we arrested and charged him. "All right. Molly's, you in" Jay asked Erin as we all finished up our paperwork for the case. "Um, actually I need to tell you guys something. A lot of you know that I've had an offer to take a spot on a federal task force. I've thought long and hard about this, and I've decided to take it" Erin said.
