I read the short message countless times and still, nothing changes in my already sour mood from last night. I've stared at each letter of every word like it's a clue or something and everytime I do it, one of my eyebrows is rising. My jealousy is spiking so high I can't think straight.

The girly pinkish card is sitting on top of the marbled countertop in our kitchen while I stare at it with burning eyes, one coffee in hand.

"Coffee is still hot."

Vladimir, who entered the kitchen without me knowing cut off my evil thoughts but not my tongue and my attitude so I gave him a sample of my mood this early of the day as he grab himself a cup of coffee.

"My head is hotter." I looked at him pointedly as I put my coffee down the countertop on top of the letter.

He sighed. "I thought I already threw that last night?"

"I thought she's over. What is it that she wants now? All these times, she will send you a flirty letter? Why?"

"You've read the letter. She's sending us her congratulations and it's not flirty. Don't make something out of nothing, Sophia." He calmly answered me despite the rising tone of my voice.

My jaw fell on the floor and I scoffed at his defense. "I can't believe that you're defending her!"

"I'm not. I'm stating facts here."

"Oh really? You're saying she congratulates us where in FACT, she just said 'Congratulations to you. Have a happy one.'. She is mocking." I frustratedly answered.

I can't believe how she wrote that knowing I would have read it too and what's worst is, she left it just on our gate. Alam pa talaga niya kung saan kami nakatira. That's creepy if you would ask me.

He pinched the bridge of his nose and put his coffee on the sink that he didn't even finish before he walked towards me and grabbed the letter on the countertop underneath my mug.

"This is nothing to me. It's all in the past and she knows that." He threw the letter in the bin and faced me again. "You, on the other hand, is my present and future. You shouldn't let yourself be bothered by that simple letter. Don't overthink, baby."

"How did she know where we live? Shouldn't we be bothered by that?"

"She probably asked Cliff. He's the only one I know Tiff would ask something about me, but don't worry about it too much."

Of course I believe him. Two hundred percent. I'm just so frustrated about it that I can't cool my head.

"Baby, Tiff isn't a threat. I swear that it's over the moment we ended it. There's nothing more and it's all you after."

I looked down because I wanted to cave in with his words and say I'm sorry. I've never felt so protective of what's mine and it's just that I feel insulted by his ex. Exes has this power of making the present feel so... so...

"Jealous? You're jealous are you?" He teased.

I crossed my arms over my chest as a defense. Nagawa pa talaga niyang mang-asar sa sitwasyon ngayon. "Excuse me?"

He smiled as he caressed my arms and smoothed my hair before touching my cheeks slightly with his hand. "I think you are and I love the look on your face. It makes me feel so loved by you."

I pushed his chest with both my hands but he just chuckled and grabbed my wrists pulling me to him giving me a passionate kiss that I didn't have a control to not say yes and so, I just kissed him back.

There's really no point in fighting about the letter and his ex. He already explained and I know better not to go back to the past where I am not yet included. She was a big part of Vladimir's life before but I know now is different so there is no sense comparing and digging about the past.
