"Wait, so, what happened last night?" I asked as I climbed out of the Jeep and shut the door as I slung my bag over my shoulder.
"I was with my dad," Stiles shut his door before continuing, "and he got a call about a possible 187-"
"Murder, right?" The boy nodded as we headed towards the main school building.
"Yeah, so we went to check it out, and Jackson and Lydia are there." I stopped walking and stared at him. He noticed I had stopped and turned around to face me.
"Were they involved? Did they find the body? Or were they just there by chance?" Stiles shrugged and waited for me to be next to him again before we continued walking.
"Jackson found the body, but that's all I know for now."
"So who died?" We had reached my locker and I had already pulled it open and was swapping out my necessary books.
"Electrician." I nodded and my hand slipped, releasing one of my books by accident and letting it slip from my grasp, only for Stiles to grab it before it hit the floor. I sent him a strangely amused look and smiled, taking the book from his hands when he held it out to me. "Thanks, I thought you were the clumsy one out of all of us?" Stiles chuckled and shook his head.
"Maybe it's an off-day." I smiled and closed my locker, feeling this random wave of affection for this boy, but quickly dismissing it and following Stiles to his locker.
"Yeah, maybe it is..."

"(Y/n)!" I jumped when I heard my name shouted in the corridor and found a young Stilinski running over to me, grabbing my waist when he almost passed me so he could stop and actually catch his balance. He almost slipped over, forcefully spinning me around when he grabbed me as I laughed at his antics.
"What's up?"
"Have you seen Scott? He's not been in school all day." I shook my head, realising something else.
"I haven't seen Allison either, maybe they're together?" Stiles shrugged in agreement and nodded, soon realising his hand was still sitting comfortably on my waist while I was hugging my books to my chest, so he quickly retracted his hand with an awkward laugh.
"Sorry." I shrugged.
"It's fine, you ready to go?" Stiles nodded and we started on our way to leave the building, "Parent/teacher conference tonight, how are you feeling about that?" I watched as Stiles really didn't give a reaction aside from a shrug.
"My dad isn't going to be happy with what's said..." I smiled with a shrug.
"I'm sure it'll be fine. You pay enough attention to get alright grades, right?" He nodded as I pulled open the side door to the Jeep and slipped into the passenger seat.

I wandered down the corridor, intent on heading into the kitchen to grab a packet of biscuits or something, but instead grew curious as to what Stiles was doing because he was so quiet, although it did sound like he had just gotten off the phone. I lightly knocked on the door.
"Hey."
"What ya doin'?" Stiles held a small phone out to me and I stared at the screen as the video played over and over again, pausing it at a certain point. "What is that?"
"I think it's our 'mountain lion'." A knock sounded on the door behind me, since I had walked into the room to take the phone from Stiles, and the sound caused me to jump, the sound also made Stiles scream a little.
"Please tell me I'm going to hear good news at this parent/teacher thing tonight." My best friend hesitated.
"Depends on how you define 'good news'."
"I define it as you getting straight A's with no behavioural issues."
"Might want to rethink that definition." I laughed a little bit and handed the phone back to Stiles.
"And you (Y/n)?" I hummed and turned around. "What can I expect for you?" My eyes widened a little and I shared a look with the boy behind me.
"You're seeing my teachers?" Mr Stilinski nodded and I smiled a little, knowing that for the first time in years someone could attend my parent/teacher conference. "Good things I think, maybe bad by association." I pointed behind me at the Sheriff's son, causing his dad to chuckle and Stiles to swat at my hand.
"Enough said." And then Stiles' dad turned and walked down the hallway.
"So what's the video about?" I whipped around to face Stiles again and crouched beside him, resting my chin on the desk.
"It's the thing that attacked that electrician and Jackson at the video store, I think it's a werewolf." I shrugged and took the phone, staring at the image he'd paused it on.
"It looks like one, but not one I've ever seen. I've only seen part transformation or fully into an actual wolf, never this."
The two of us stayed in his room for hours, thinking of things and people this creature could be.

I sat in class listening to Scott try and explain himself to Stiles although by the sounds of things the conversation was pretty one-sided.
After class I followed the two out of class and continued to listen to them.
"He wants you to tap into your animal side and get angry?" Scott nodded. "All right, well, correct me if I'm wrong, but, every time you try and do that, you try to kill someone, and that someone's usually me."
"I know." Silently in the back of my mind, there was a small part of me contemplating on helping Scott with my brother's little activities, but I've only told Stiles about being a werewolf... ", that's what he means by he doesn't know if he can teach me." Stiles glanced over to me on the other side of Scott. "I have to be able to control it.
"Well how's he gonna teach you to do that?"
"I don't know, I don't think he does either."
"Okay when are you seeing him again?" Stiles made it sound like they were going out on a date.
"Just told me not to talk about it. Just act normal and get through the day."
"When?"
"He's picking me up at the animal clinic after work."
"Stiles don't make another comment that'll make this sound gay, please." I smile and peered around Scott at our sarcastic best friend.
"Okay, well I guess I have until the end of the school day then."
"To do what."
"Teach you myself." I sighed as he wandered off, leaving me and Scott behind.
"And he made it sound gay." Scott chuckled and we followed after Stiles into the lunch hall.
