Stiles and the others had gone over to Lydia's for the birthday party going on, while this full moon, I had ventured into the familiar little den.

"How do you not feel this?"

"I feel every second of it."

"Then how do you control it?" The sound of my shoes scuffing the debris on the floor gained everyone's attention.

"You find an anchor. Something meaningful to you." Isaac's eyes landed on me and Derek nodded in agreement, tightening the bonds around my boyfriend's wrists.

"Bind yourself to it, keep the human side of you in control."

"What is it for you?" Derek looked up as Isaac asked him, glancing over to me before continuing.

"Anger." I smiled, leaning on the frame of the bus. "But it doesn't have to be that for everybody."

"You mean Scott?" Derek nodded and Isaac looked over to me. "What's yours?" I shrugged with a small smile.

"Derek and my friends."

When I remembered something was happening tonight, Lydia's birthday, I hurried over to her house and immediately spotted her, wishing her a happy birthday as she smiled and told me to enjoy the party. I noticed people acting strange and headed into the back yard, finding Stiles stood there staring at something.

"Mis?" I asked quietly, going up to him and placing a hand on his shoulder. "Mis?" A couple tears had fallen from his eyes and I looked at him worried, managing to snap him out of his little trance. He immediately recognised my presence and looked at me oddly. "Are you okay...? You're crying a little..." he nodded and wiped his eyes and cheeks.

"I thought you couldn't come tonight." I shrugged, letting my hand drop.

"Derek's got the little pack covered for tonight, so I thought I'd drop by and wish Lydia a happy birthday." I paused for a moment. "Are you sure you're okay?" He nodded again and I let him continue on with the party.

"Melissa, Scott's busy so I brought dinner for you." Scott's mother smiled and happily took the take out bag, tipping my head over the counter so she could kiss the top of it before grabbing her purse and rounding the counter to come be with me.

"You are marvellous, the daughter I never had." Her smiled remained and i walked with her out of the building and to her car. "Come on, I'll give you a lift, and we can have some dinner." I smiled and nodded, gladly following after her.

"(Y/n)! Do you know who this is?" I followed Melissa's voice and looked at the phone as she held it out and nodded.

"Yeah, that's Matt, he's in my history class. Why?" She shook her head and raised her phone back to her ear.

"I mean, I remember I stopped him because he was tracking mud in the hall. Scott, what's going on?" After a second the call ended and Melissa turned to me. "Do you know anything about this?" I shook my head, actually having no idea what so ever, not even the slightest.

"I have no idea. Scott and Stiles having told me what they've been up to recently...they don't tell me much..."

"Scott just texted, said he needs me down at the station." Melissa seemed worried and it passed to me as I swallowed anxiously.

"Can I come with you?" She nodded and I. Smiled, following her out to the car once again and slipping into the front seat, chewing my lip nervously.

When we walked into the station, I immediately caught the scent of a lot of blood and fear and anxiety, tugging Melissa behind me.

"(Y/n)?"

"Trust me on this, please, just...just stay behind me." She nodded and did so, luckily just as someone rounded the corner.
