I could hear noises coming from the library sort of area of the school and found my way there with Hallow's shadow travel help.
"Go back to the others, I'll be fine with Scott." He nodded and I turned my head, seeing Scott flip into the stairs and cough up a little blood. "Oh fuck." I pulled the book out of the bag Hallow left with me and flipped to the right page, whispering to myself as I stared at Scott, glancing down at my pages every now and then. "Goddess of protection hear my plea, keep this beast away from him, When they are near they will feel pure pain, The closer they are the stronger the pain." I could see almost invisible iridescence surround Scott on the steps. "Goddess of protection hear my plea, keep this beast away from him, When they are near they will feel pure pain, The closer they are the stronger the pain." The beast lunged for Scott but was stopped by a mysterious field, purple, like a mountain ash barrier, prevented it from reaching my best friend. I repeated it more and more times until the beast turned to me. I stopped chanting, seeing the barrier safely up. I heard a shotgun from behind me and spotted Braeden and Malia, I smiled and backed up to them after seeing Liam hit the beast. The creature fled through the window. Scott stared at me as I closed the grimoire, the shield falling and letting him move freely.
"What was that?" He asked, dumbfounded.
"A protection spell I found. I thought I could try and be useful to the pack for once." I smiled nervously and Scott beamed, pulling me into a quick hug.
"Amazing, also, you're always useful." He pressed a friendly kiss to the top of my head as I held him up.

We were all at Scott's house now, Stiles checking on Kira and Scott while I waited in the corridor with Malia and Braeden.
"What?"
"Tell him." Braeden suggested, so Malia spoke.
"You know how my mom wants to kill me? I think she wants to kill you, too."
I sighed and looked down at the floor as I leaned against the hallway wall.
"Okay, uh, that's disconcerting. I should probably have a gun."
I looked up at Stiles like he was crazy.
"You'll end up accidentally shooting one of us, or yourself, no."
Stiles stared at me like I was now crazy before nodding in agreement with my statement.
"Braeden has a gun. The desert wolf who is trying to kill me has a gun. I think I should probably have a gun." We all stared at him, although Malia agreed with a nod, looking to Braeden.
"Mis, you have a Baseball bat, and a lacrosse stick, you're not having a gun, okay?" He nodded with a pout.

Everyone was looking for Mason but I was sat on my bed, trying to decide whether I should still move out of Beacon Hills. Hallow was sat on my bed, flicking through a magazine while I was searching for the contacts my Santa Barba family had given Derek and I. I finally found it after hours of searching, so I decided to call them. I lifted the device to my ear as it rang dull and slow tones.
"Hello?"
"Hi, is this Christine?"
"Um, yes, may I ask who this is?"
"Oh! My name is (Y/n) Hale, I'm Talia's daughter. I'm Derek's sister."
"Oh yes! If you're calling, I'm assuming you need somewhere to stay?" I nodded with a hum, pacing my room.
"Yeah. I'm still in Beacon Hills, but there's a lot of stuff going on, and I just want to leave."
"Of course, we can get a room ready if you like? When will you be coming down?"
"After I sort out this problem me and my friends are having, one of them is in trouble and we need to make sure he's okay. I'll call you and let you know when to expect me?"
"Of course. Marcie and Mikaela are looking forward to meeting their cousin, Kane's fairly excited too."
"You have kids?"
"Triplets, bloody pain to push out." I laughed, still wandering around my room.
"How old are they?"
"Ah, they weren't born long after you were. By now, I'd say they're...a grade below you, if I remember your age right. 17, now, yes?"
"Yeah. You're my dad's side of the family, right?"
"Yes."
"Was there anything ever off, about him?"
"My brother...hm...He was always peculiar...talking to the sky, the trees, the flowers...the animals. We knew he got it from mom, she was a little out of it too. Witch, we think."
"Witch? Was dad one?"
"We think so. He could do mysterious things that most of us couldn't, I could, I helped him. By you asking, I'm assuming you inherited his abilities."
"Yeah. Shadow manifest. What was dad?"
"Nature, healing, potions."
"What about you?"
"Shadows, the moon, the night, stuff like that. You can bring your familiar with you." I smiled, biting my lip.
"My familiar is human now, he was a cat."
"I can tell you're a powerful witch. I think one of mine has inherited the abilities too, I just don't know which one."
"We'll find out."
"Your familiar going to shar a room with you?"
"Yeah, he stays with me."
"We'll get it sorted. Give us a call when you come to Santa Barba, okay? We'll make a big meal, introduce you to everyone."
"Sounds great. I'll see you soon."
"Alright, buh-bye."
"Bye."
Hallow stared at me in confusion.
"Christine Ballard? nee Hale?" I nodded.
"Why?" Hallow shook his head.
"My mother used to serve her, but Christine stopped needing help after she had kids." I nodded in understanding just as the sun began to come up.
"Well, you're moving with me, so grab a suitcase and start packing you shit." Hallow chuckled and hopped off the bed, sliding it out from under the bed and gradually packing his stuff.
