*August in MM*
Payton pulled up to her restaurant to see what was going on. It was busy, Rondo and Pierre was around the corner on block hanging with they people.
"Hey Payton" she heard and she waved as she walked to the back.
"Payton glad to see you here, we need your help" a manager she hired named Sharod said as he headed off to help the back.
"What's your name" she asked the girl who put food on the plates.
"Christina" she said as she put the plate up on the counter for the cashier to bag it.
"Alright I'm going to help you, how many orders do you have" Payton asked as she washed her hands and she looked at the screen.
"Twenty-seven in house and four on the way" She said as Payton walked over grabbing a apron.
"I bet we get all these people out of here by the next twenty minutes" Payton said as she put on gloves.
"Are you new, we're definitely not going to getting these people. We're always busy" The girl said and Payton scoffed, she didn't know Payton owned the restaurant.
"Alright do me a favor, get the orders that's on the way. I got this" Payton said as she began putting food on the plates.
"If you say so" Christina said and Payton began to do her thing.
"Chicken drop" Payton said to the cooks.
"On it" she heard as she looked at the screen as she put food on the plates.
"You're pretty good to be new" Christina said and Payton wasn't paying her any attention.
"Who's the cashier" she asked the girl and she shrugged.
"Janet or Julia I don't know" she said as she focused on her orders.
"Alright" she said as she closed the plates and placed the stickers on the plates.
"Four orders up, hey excuse me what's your name" Payton said as she placed the food on the counter.
"Janet" she said as she placed the food in the bags.
"Alright listen, once you serve the four costumer I need for you to come to the back and grab the next four orders. I promise I'll have some ready by the time you come back there" Payton told her nicely and she looked at her.
"And who are you to tell me how to do my job" she got smart with Payton and Payton gave her a look.
"Sweetheart, I own this restaurant. Now if you don't wanna follow rules your next check will be your last, thank you" Payton told her before walking off.
Payton seen they bought another pan of Mac n' cheese, cabbage, and collard greens to the plate area. There was a area for the food to be cooked and baked, area for it to be put in plates and where the food sat in slots, and the counter was where the food was given to paid customers.
It was like a Golden Corral but a soul food restaurant. Payton has it built and put in the hood where she grew up. Everything was made with her grandmother's recipe and it was also called "Big Mama's Soulfood". One of the best restaurants in town.
"Orders up" Payton said as she placed the plates on the side waiting for Janet who never came.
"Do me a favor and fix these plates while I handle shorty in the front, she bout to piss me off" Payton told Christina as she grabbed the plates taking them to the front.
"Yo Janet I asked you to do something, why you standing here on your phone" Payton asked she put the plates on the counter.
"Because you ain't my boss" She got smart with Payton as she bagged the plates.
