Chapter 54

*August in MM*

Payton woke up and headed out to take Marco for a walk. Shawn joined them.

"Pay-Pay" Shawn called her as she held the leash.

"Wassup kid" she said as he limped on his crutches.

"Do you think my moms will ever come back" he asked and Payton looked over at him.

"I hope so.. if not then I'll take care of you til your ready to take care of yourself" she told him and he sigh deeply.

"How did you meet my dad" he asked and Payton shrugged thinking about it.

"Your grandmother and my grandmother were very great friends. Until my grandmother passed and your grandmother got sick, she offered me a place to stay only if I could cook, clean, and take care of her while she was sick. Within two weeks your grandma passed" Payton began to explain.

"So after she passed your father turned to the streets, he was young and I was trying to help him stay away from them but he was to difficult to keep up with so I let him be." She told him and Shawn sigh.

"Thank you Payton... I appreciate everything you've done for me and I love you a lot" he told her and she smiled to herself.

"I love you too" she told him and they walked to the end of the street and turned around.

"Pay-Pay... what are you going to name my lil brother" he asked and Payton shrugged.

"I don't know... I just know his middle name is going to be Adonis. I'm going to let August pick his first name" she told him and Shawn sigh.

"You know August is a really good guy... he told me that even though y'all aren't going to be together anymore he's still going to love you like his wife." Shawn told her and she shook her head with a small smile.

"I'll always love him" she said and Shawn looked over at her.

"Why don't you wanna be with him anymore" he asked and she shrugged sighing deeply.

"Listen kid, love is a dangerous game. I dated August when I very young. As you get older you learn when you're tired of something you let it go... you'll hate it even feel guilty about it but if it's a good decision for the both of you then do it. That's how I feel about August" she told him and Shawn shook his head.

"Just wait til my l brother get here.. he gone bring y'all back together" Shawn said and Payton couldn't agree on that.

She was honestly tired.

"Alright kid come on, you can help me start on the nursery today" she said and Shawn sigh as they walked up the driveway.

"But my leg" he said and Payton shook her head.

"Kid.. you don't have to stand you can sit down and do it" she said and he chuckled.

"Ok P" he said and they headed in the house and upstairs to work on the nursery.

"Babe" Amarin came in the room where Pierre sat playing his game.

"Yes" he said looking over at her than back at the game.

"Can you come help me get the packages I ordered for Payton in the car" she asked and he nodded pausing the game.

"Damn bae. What is all this" he asked and she sigh.

"Pampers, clothes, a car seat, wipes, and more clothes" Amarin said as she pointed around at the Amazon packets.

"How did you get all this already... you just found out two weeks ago" he told her and she smacked her teeth.
