Chapter 70

*Payton in MM*

August P.O.V.

I was on the plane heading back to LA. I just wanted to go home and lay down. Doctors had put me on crutches and meds to reduce pain. Once we landed I got in the car with my momma and the twins.

"Hey uncle August" Yoni spoke to me as I got in the car.

"Hey y'all." I greeted them back as I closed the door.

"Are you okay" Lai asked as held her baby in her arms.

"I'm okay. I'm just ready to lay down and see my son" I told them  and Mama T closed the trunk getting in.

"August Payton already got Adam from Chandra" My momma told me and I sigh.

"I'll call her then" he said and she cleared her throat.

"She moving out" Mama T told me and I shook my head.

"Because I took the pill" I asked sadly, I regret everything that happened that night.

I should've stayed and listened to her. But I had never seen that much hurt in Payton eyes before. When I looked at her I could tell she was serious about us. I had lost her trust only to make it worse. I was starting to believe she didn't deserve me and she deserved better.

"No, I kicked her out and took her off the lease" she told me like it as nothing.

"Ma I didn't tell you to do that" I told her in disbelief.

It was already bad enough she moved most of her clothes. I didn't want her to move out at all I just wanted her to have her space to heal. I was going to need help getting around and I wanted Payton to help me, not move out.

"August you called me that night so upset with that girl. I knew for a fact that you was done with her so I did it myself" she told me and I was getting mad.

"I could never be done with Payton we have a kid together" I told her, it was like she forgot.

"And she needs to bring him to me because she not suppose to have him today" she said and for some reason she hated Payton.

Back in the day, she loved Payton for me. Now it's like she hates Payton guts. Payton did nothing wrong to her. She let her get away with testing Adam and now she was doing this.

"What happened Uncle August" Lai asked me and I sigh.

"Man I don't know. Sum dude started throwing drinks on our section so we decided to leave before anything went down. I knew I was high so I was the first one out the club because I didn't want to get in no trouble. But I did and the man and his dudes came outside behind us and started chomping at us" I explained what I could remember from that night.

"Then he threw a punch at me so I fought back. I had em but he stabbed me my leg so dawg got him off me before he could stab me again. Pierre shot up in the air and everybody dipped. That's all I remember" I told them.

"Well now you're all cripple and the blame is on Payton" my mama said and Yoni smacked her teeth.

"Ma it's not her fault, I'm a grown ass man." I told her and she looked over at me.

"Watch ya mouth boy" she said and I wished I would've told somebody to pick me up.

"I'm sorry but I am. I went to club not her. It's nobody to blame but that dude because he started with us" I told them as she turned in my neighborhood.

"August do you want me to stay here tonight with you" she asked me as she went down the street.

"No I'm fine by myself" I told her quickly, I didn't like the way she was acting.
