A Chance Encounter

I was lying in bed with Luna and Genki wrapped in my arms. Genki always seemed to be happy when he was cuddling Luna, so I would always let him hold her when we slept together in my room.

But something about me was off that morning. Since my date with Matt, I've come home exhausted and go straight to bed. I didn't understand why I felt exhausted, but I was running around most of the days in the digital world, so I summed it up to that reason.

I sat up in bed feeling my head grow heavy as I leaned against the wall sighing in my exhaustion.

I looked back down at my brother and partner, sleeping peacefully as the sun slowly rose in the sky and the light shining through my window.

I quietly got out of bed, grabbed a set of clothes and went to the bathroom. I turned on the water, and suddenly, I fell to my knees breathing heavily as I stared at water filling the tub.

My heart was pounding faster than normal, and my vision was shaky. My body became cold, so I quickly undressed and jumped into thw hot water, but even then, it didn't work very well.

"What's happening to me?" I asked myself, trying to warm myself up.

My class and I were crowded around our teacher. We were taking a class trip to Kyoto, which was what I was really looking forward to. I was really hoping to see some of the temples in the area.

"Alright," the teacher said, "I want you all back here in two hours."

We all answered yes and walked out separate ways. I walked with my friends who were in my group around the area.

"I have to buy some things," I said as we passed a souvenir shop, "I promised my family that I wouls bring back something for them."

We went inside and I found a few little trinkets that would be fine with my family. I paid and we left as quickly as we went in.

"Wow, that was fast." One of my friends said.

"Yeah, now we can check out some of the sights." I said happily, ready to get going on with this visit to one of the coolest places in Japan.

Suddenly, I saw something in the sky. I looked up and saw the sky turn transparent, then back to blue.

"Tell I'm imagining this." I told myself, but deep down, I knew I wasn't imagining it.

I was sitting with Izzy in my room, talking about a few things when we got a message from Yolei. She talked about how her trip to Kyoto was going and how much fun she was having. It sounded like she was having a really good time there.

"According to everything you've just told me, this whole mess started when your digivice turned into a D-3. If my calculations are correct, it's all your fault." Izzy said bluntly. I looked at up at him confused, but I knew that most of this was indeed my fault.

"The others needed D-3s to compete with you, so their subconscious minds somehow willed their digivices to change. The same might as well be said for Raya, since she's the Digi-mage, her powers must've morphed her digivice as well." Izzy took out his digivice and showed it to me, "As strong as these digivices are, they just weren't enough to help. Of course that also means that you wished for you digivice to change into a D-3."

I thought back to the first time I held my D-3, but my mind was still a little foggy, so I couldn't remember if I made a wish or not.

"Like i said it must have been your subconscious. Geniuses usually have pretty big ones." Izzy continued, "In the digital world, data is formed into shapes, usually based on whatever is going through the person's minds, kind of like a vcr for your brain. And that is why everyone's clothes change everytime they go into the digital world, and why Davis looks the way he does. Like a pilot on a safari."
