The Gate to The Digital Nightmare

We ran through the gate, even my little brother following close behind me. What we would find on the other side was nothing like we had expected.

I heard the children screaming in joy at the sight of a new world. But as soon as I ran through into this world, I could feel something wrong.

All of a sudden, the bright light from the portal disappeared, leaving us in a mixed and chaotic world.

Our digimom immediately digivolved and began attacking Arukenimon and Mummymon. I grabbed my brother's hand and ran with the others to face Oikawa, who was just as shocked as I was about this strange world.

"And that's just a sample of your parting gifts!" Davis shouted.

"Now let those kids go!" Ken demanded.

Oikawa immediately looked down in both fear and confusion, staring at his hands with wide and fear filled eyes.

"What's going on? I don't understand!" He said, "It's gone. What happened to my dream?"

Just then, we heard loud sobs coming from near Oikawa. I turned to the sobs and saw all the kids crying loudly, all huddled in a group.

Genki and I ran to the kids, a couple of the younger ones grabbing me for comfort.

"Hey, where are we?" I heard Kari ask.

"I don't know." Yolei answered, "Because Blackwargreymon sealed the digital gate, we must've ricocheted into another world. What world this might be I have no clue."

Oikawa growled in anger as I pushed the children and my little brother behind me, just in case something happened.

It had been a good while, but my prosthetic leg began to burn again. Somethi g was going to happen and wasn't going to be good.

"It's not fair, I wanted to go to the digital world!" Oikawa screamed.

"You can't always get what you want, can you?" A voice spoke through the air, sending shivers down my spine like icicles.

A pair of purple stained lips appeared above us, the small fangs sticking out in between them told me exactly who this stranger was.

"Now that's what I call a big mouth." Kimiko commented.

"You can forget the digital world, Oikawa, it is beyond your reach now. You will never see it again even in your dreams." The mouth said.

The children behind me cried loudly again in fear of this voice. But their cries were only sweet music to him.

"Yes, cry. You are doomed. For you have entered a world of despair, where your souls will be consumed by darkness and there no place for you to hide and no place for you to escape."

They cried even louder.

I stood up, strong and tall. World of despair or not, I wouldn't let this enemy hurt anyone else.

"Who are you?" Tk shouted, "Are you working with Daemon or some other weirdo?"

The voice scoffed, "Daemon? Ha!" The voice slowly began to shift to Oikawa's.

"An I going crazy or is my voice coming out that mouth?"

"A little bit of both. You see, I'm you!" The voice answered.

"What are you saying?"

"Three years ago, I was in need of a host. And when I found you, I used you to store my data. Then you and I became as one."
