Chapter 36

A/n: Sorry it took so long for the update!  But here it is

Emiko's POV

It was almost the end of the 1st set.  Tsubakihara Academy had just gotten a point and it was now their serve. 

I saw the coach sub them in with a what seemed like a nervous first year.

'Well I guess it would make sense to get a pinch server since we are only a point from winning the first set,' I thought to myself.

The poor boy was practically shaking the entire time he had the ball, I could hear the announcer say something about this being is first ever match which slightly confused me because if a was a good pinch server, wouldn't they use him more? 

I watched as the boy stood right outside the line before moving his foot back.

"An underhand serve?! Are they kidding?  This is nationals!" I said almost standing up from my spot on the bench.

"Calm down Emiko, lets see how this works out," Coach Ukai told me while observing the boys movments.

I saw as the ball rammed into the back of one of their upperclassmen winning us the first set.

"What is their coach thinking?  Sending in a underhand server only for them to fail, does he think this is some sort of joke?" I questioned.

"Well, lets just hope it is," Coach Ukai said before the boys started to return to the bench.

Normal POV

The boys observed as they looked at how aggravated Emiko seemed while handing out the towels and bottles.

It appeared that her nervousness turned into aggression, and it was obvious that the others could pick up on it as well.

Even when Coach was laying out the plan, Emiko stayed quiet instead of pitching strategies like usual.

Just when they where about to go out Hinata put his hand on her shoulder and said,

"Emiko, you have nothing to worry about!  We will win this for sure!" The orange haired boy said with a bright smile making the other girl's eyes widen slight and give him a small nod returning her to her normal self.

"Oi," Kageyama said while putting one hand on top of Hinata's head to squish it, "stop flirting with my girlfriend," He told him in a fearful voice.

Instead of making the human tangerine shiver in fear it only made him smile even larger.  But before he could say anything the human salt shaker beat him too it.

"Ara, did I just hear the King call our manager, 'my girlfriend'," Tsukishima said in his mocking voice.

But instead of yelling back like they would normally do, the first year couple just stayed silent and blushed waiting for someone to changer the topic.

"Don't worry, we already had a hunch the two of you where together," Sugawara said while putting his had on their shoulders.

"Y-you did?" Emiko said slighty surprised.

"Well you too always walk togehter," Tanaka stated.

"There was also that time you blew a kiss to him in front of the clubroom," Daichi added.

"Y-you saw that?" The blushing girl stuttered.

"Alright, alright, enough chit chat, you guys are about to begin your second set," Coach Ukai announced.

Emiko was on the edge of her seat when she saw that the coach of the other team had subbed back in the nervous underhand server.
