Chapter 6

Chapter 6: "Love is looking into his eyes and forgetting about the world around you. It's feeling his kiss hours after he's gone. It's remembering how he smells like and loving his scent more than anyone else's. It's seeing perfection when he's standing beside you, and realizing every moment he's not with you is just too long."

Nakangiwi ako habang nakatingin sa bisikleta. He smirked as he saw my reaction. Lumabi ako at kumapit sa shirt niya at umiling sa kanya. He learned that I can't ride a bike so he offered to teach me. I didn't think he'd take it seriously.

He patiently taught me how to ride a bike, but I was so scared that every time he'd try to let go, I'd scream. Buti na lang ay walang masyadong tao sa park.

"Vash, no! Don't let go!"

He stopped. "Paano ka matututo kung hindi kita bibitawan?" 

Kumapit ako sa braso niya at lumabi. "Takot talaga ako."

He stared at me then after a while, he breathed out. "Fine. Next time na lang."

Inangkas na lang niya ako at inikot namin ang village. It was my first time to ride a bike, and I had so much fun. When we got tired, we stopped at the park. May nakita kami na nagtitinda ng fish ball, nagkatinginan kami at sabay na ngumisi. It's sometimes funny how we could read each other's thoughts. 

We sat on the grass and ate fish ball. 

"Sarap," I muttered. Bumaling siya sa akin at ilang sandali akong tinitigan kaya bahagya akong nailang. "Don't stare at me," nahihiyang sambit ko.

He smirked. "Why not? Ang ganda-ganda kaya ng girlfriend ko."

I pouted and fixed my eyeglasses consciously. "Bolero."

Tumaas ang mga kilay niya. "You don't believe me?" Binitawan niya ang hawak na plastic cup na may lamang fish ball at umupo paharap sa akin at mataman akong tinitigan. 

My face heat up. "Vash!" 

Bahagya ko siyang tinampal sa balikat. Umiwas ako ng tingin sa kanya dahil naiilang ako sa titig niya. But then he cupped my cheeks and made me face him. 

I swallowed as I stared back into his beautiful brown eyes. That look.. it wasn't the kind that would give you butterflies, rather it was the kind that could make you drown. The kind that you could get lost in. The kind that gives you security. 

How could it not make me feel secure when he looked at me like I was the most beautiful girl? Slowly, a soft smile appeared on my face. Without looking away, he held my hand and kissed the back of my palm.

Napahawak ako sa dibdib ko. I didn't know it was possible to fall for someone again and again..

I grimaced and touched my abdomen as I felt a severe bout of pain. Umungol ako at mahigpit na niyakap ang unan. I knew this would happen that's why I cancelled my movie date with Vash. Sayang.

"Ate," tawag ko sa kasambahay namin. "Wala pa sina Mommy?"

"Tumawag mommy mo hindi daw sila makakauwi ngayon. Na-cancel daw ang flight nila kaya bukas na daw sila makakauwi."

I sighed. May business conference si Daddy sa Cebu at isinama niya si Mommy. Naligo na lang ako at muling humiga sa kama. It was a quarter after six when Ate Miding knocked on my room. 

"Ate, hindi ako mag-di-dinner."

Hindi talaga ako masyadong kumakain kapag may period ako. Ayoko masyadong gumagalawa. Mabilis din akong mairita kaya kaninang kausap ko si Vash sa phone ay hindi ko sinasadyang masungitan siya. Kaya siguro hindi na niya ako tinawagan ulit. I felt bad for how I acted pero lalambingin ko na lang siya kapag tapos na ang period ko. Mahirap na baka masungitan ko lang siya ulit.
