Chapter 10: "I said it was fine, but I never said it didn't hurt."
Humigpit ang kapit ko sa kamay ni Vash pag-pasok namin sa bar. It was crowded, and the loud music filled the place. It was my first time in a place like this. Matter of fact, I wasn't allowed yet to enter a bar since I wasn't 18 yet. Ipinakiusap lang kami nila kami ni Bailey sa may-ari na pinsan ni Calem. However, we were under the strict condition that we wouldn't drink beer or any liquor.
Vash looked at me then put his arm around me protectively. "Are you okay, Mahal?"
I bit my lower lip and nodded. "Hindi lang ako sanay."
Sa may harap ang pwesto namin. Kirk, Aaron, Jed, Duke, and Tristan also came to support Vash.
"Ano ba ito. Juice lang ba talaga ang pwede?" himutok ni Bailey.
"Pwede naman tubig, baby," Kirk said teasingly.
"Upakan kaya kita?"
He responded by pinching her cheek. "Sweet talaga ng girlfriend ko 'no?"
We just laughed at their craziness. Aaron, Jed, Duke, and Tristan also came to support Vash. I probably had the loudest cheer as their band was introduced. His friends were also very supportive. It was nice to know that even if they didn't study in the same university, their friendship was still strong.
My forehead creased a bit. Others probably didn't notice it, but I did; Vash was nervous. Tumingin siya sa gawi ko. I smiled encouragingly at him and mouthed, "you can do it."
His lips curved into a real smile, and it made the girls go gaga over him. Kahit ito pa lang ang kauna-unahang pagkakataon na tutugtog sila ay marami na agad silang mga fans. Most of them were girls of course. It probably helped that Vash and Calem are both good-looking.
Before their first song finished, they had already gained a lot of fans. The crowd just loved them. Hindi maalis ang tingin ko kay Vash; I was just in awe of him. He was so good. Anyone watching him right at this moment would think he was a pro. I knew right and then that he would make it big. It just wouldn't make sense if he didn't.
"For our last song, I would like to dedicate this to the special girl in my life," he said with a tender smile while looking at me.
Bailey shrieked upon hearing that. "Iba! Iba rin talaga ang jowa mo, be! Grabe! Nakakakilig!"
I used to think that I was fine
Oh, that I was doing okay
I didn't know that I was blind
I just went on along my way
I didn't know what I was missing
'til I felt your tender lips
Kissing my fears away
I'm so glad you're here today
Every line that came out of his mouth felt so real. My heart was full because of him. But then the chorus part, where he sang it with Joey, ruined it for me. Not because she sounded awful, it was actually the opposite. And I knew it was supposed to be sang that way, but somehow it felt off seeing them sing the song that he supposedly dedicated to me.
I never had somebody I could lean on
I never had a shoulder I could cry on
'til I found you, babe
'til I found you
And I never had somebody I would think about
