The next day I wake up in a luxury hotel room next to my beautiful Caitlin. We arrived to Malibu late at the night and checked into a magnificent hotel.

We remain in bed for a long time and cuddle. Simply enjoying each other's warmth and closeness.
"Zane?", Caitlin asks so quiet that it comes out as a whisper.
"Yes?"
"Tell me more about our future life here in Malibu.", she says, her crystal blue eyes shining curiously.
"We'll find the right place for our house. Perhaps by the seacoast with a view of a beach, so we can wake up to a gorgeous sunrise every morning. In the summers we could sit out in the sun and dine, we would feel the gentle breeze that would reach us from the waves and the lovely smell of salt water. In the evenings we could stay up late to see the sky get colored at sunset and watch the sun disappear over the horizon.", I say in my raspy morning voice and get lost in my own dreams. Caitlin doesn't seem to have words enough to answer so she leans forward and kisses me soft.

On the afternoon we go for a walk down town looking for a place to eat. Caitlin's hand fits perfectly in mine as we move our legs forward in the same pace. We find a over classified resturant where only rich people eat, but decide to give it a try. We order the delicious chicken dish and get suprised by it's classy taste.

Caitlin's phone starts ringing, it's her friends wondering where she is. She tells them the truth, that she made a a brisk decision to move to Malibu. I feel bad for her since she had to leave before even saying goodbye.

Hearing Caitlin talk to her friends gets me thinking of Aubrey. The last time I saw her I made her cry and I regret leaving her like that. What if I never get to see her again. The last memory we will have of each other will be that moment, when we screamed at one another. I don't dare to think those horrible thoughts, that I will never get to meet her again. I don't wan't to face the world without her, but I guess I have to.

"What are you thinking handsome?", Caitlin asks and I realize that she has hung up her phone and is admiring my thoughtful face.
"Nothing important.", I answer and she gives me that look, like she knows that there's more to the story, but she doesn't question me.
"I will miss Julie's funeral.", she says and her thoughts goes to her murdered friend. The guilt shoots me like a gun in the chest, since the murderer is sitting right in front of her. She can never know, I won't bring that sorrow and pain into her life. I will live with that guilt in secret.
"I'm sorry.", I say and gently put my hand on top of hers. She gives me a sad smile and tries to stay strong.
"I'm alright. I just wished I could be there.", she continues and squeezes my hand.

I follow Caitlin back to the hotel before I head out on the streets by myself. It has gone almost a week since I last fed - I'm starting to feel weak and thirsty. I don't want to take any risks when I'm with Caitlin, her blood still attracts me so I find it harder to resist from biting her.

It wasn't hard to chose my next victim - a innocent woman who can't protect herself from me and easily falls for my charm and flushes as I give her flirting compliments.
The woman walks past me in her delightful high heels and I feel the scent of the blood pumping out to every part of her skinny and helpless body. She's wearing a appealing and short dress in the same color as I picture her blood - dark red.

"Excuse me!", I shout friendly and she stops short. She turns around and flash a flirting smile as she sees my appearance. I walk up to her and the closer I get, the louder I hear her heart beat. The desire of blood is at it's highest top, the only way left is down.
