I tell Caitlin to go and look around while I prepare some things inside. She gladly starts walking on my property and admires all that is within sight.
I order one of my officials to keep an eye on Caitlin and not to let her go inside the mansion until I say otherwise.
I close the door behind me and start right away.I have to make sure that the place looks livable and that there's nothing that can associate me with vampires.
I puff up the pillows that is on my bed and the couch in the livingroom, I shake many carpets, clean dust from all the surfaces I see, even from the skirting boards. I remove bloodstains of the couch and the floor and so on.
I clean everything. I want it to be perfect when Caitlin comes inside.I try to hurry as much I can, and that's the reason to why I run so fast that the human eyes can't perceive my actions.
After 10 minutes I conclude by lighting a few candles and put on some perfume.I walk out in the shinny weather and find Caitlin standing by the red flowering rosebushes.
"There you are.", I say and she turns around.
"It's so beautiful here. I love it." She caresses her index finger soft against one of the petals and then looks up at me with an pleasant expression on her stunning face.***
We step inside to the hall of my mansion and Caitlins' curious eyes searches the room.
The walls have some various artworks and the wooden floor is spotless. Straight ahead is an amazing staircase that probably leads past many people's visions."I don't know what to say... this is so perfect!", Caitlin keeps saying thrilled of happiness and excitement.
"You like it?"
"Are you kidding? This is more than I could ever imagine!", she says so overjoyed and I smile, not only with my mouth but also with my heart.I give Caitlin a house tour, but we don't go to all the rooms because it would take us two hours or more.
And in every room Caitlin's eyes gets twice the size and she gets speechless, which I see as a good sign.***
Caitlin is sitting on the chair around the kitchen island watching me cook dinner for us.
I'm making sautéed garlic lemon chicken, a dish that I've made many times in my life."I find it attractive when guys can cook.", Caitlin claims and she flushes slightly. "How come you're so good?", she asks when she feels the delicious smell of the sauce.
"I have made this dish several times and therefore I have learned from my mistakes.", I explain simply and she nods. She seems to think my life is interesting, but she has no idea.
"This is perhaps inappropriate to ask, but ... how old are you?", she wonders and I turn the chicken breasts in the frying pan.
"No it's okay.", I reply nicely. "I'm 25.", I lie about my age, like I have done hundreds, if not millions of times to humans.
"I'm 23.", she utters and I smile friendly.
The fact that I don't grow older in appearance reaches my mind. This means I can't stay with Cailin all her life as I want to. She will notice that I don't look older, get wrinkles and gray hair. She will understand that I'm inhuman and that can't happen. Humans are not allowed to know.
Aubrey told me that Caitlin would find out sooner or later. Why didn't I listen to her?"What are you thinking handsome?", Caitlin asks and I look right at her.
"I'm thinking about how stunning the girl in front of me is.", I say charming. There's no way in hell I'm giving this girl up. I won't be able to let her go, not now, not ever. She's so gorgeous, smart, kind and sexy. She's everything I have ever dreamed of.
So what if I only get to spend like 5 years with her, those years will be the best in my existence. I'm happy just being with Caitlin in this moment. That's all that matters for me right now.
