"Now then," Ushijima took a breath, peering over at Kuroo and smirking. "Why don't we tell them the real purpose of this meeting, hm?"

———

Kuroo smiled bitterly and nodded, tossing something up into the air and catching it with ease before setting it down onto the table. "Gentlemen," he began, a brow raised. "This little vile holds one of the most powerful sedation drugs there is. Too much of it can be lethal." He paused before adding, "Oikawa and Akaashi were our examples to see its effects."

Konoha made a small, offended noise of disbelief, eyes narrowed. "What?!" He adjusted how Akaashi's body leaned against his shoulder and absently tightened his grip on the deputy's arms. "We had a truce!"

Bokuto glanced at him and then to Akaashi with concern evident on his face before turning sharply to glare at Kuroo, voice cold. "What are you implying?"

Daichi stayed silent, keeping an eye on the gun that was still pressed to Hinata's chest, frowning and locking eyes with Suga for a few seconds. This won't end well...
Suga could practically read Daichi's thoughts, the uncertainty in his eyes was crystal clear and it was rather obvious he was tense.

Kuroo gestured to Ushijima that he could lower the gun, earning a nod in response while Hinata let out a heavy sigh of relief. "How should I phrase this?" He grinned, watching as Kageyama hurriedly wrapped his arms around Hinata and drew him back into the safety of the group.

Iwaizumi waited expectantly, biting the inside of his lip anxiously while messing with Oikawa's hair, trying to soothe himself while peering over at Ushijima, who had returned to murmuring things to Tendou and Semi - while Goshiki crossed his arms and listened in just out of curiosity.

"Well," Kuroo continued, resting his arm against Kenma's shoulder. "If you let them stay unconscious for too long, they could die." He chuckled under his breath and clicked his tongue. "Wouldn't that be tragic?"

Bokuto's eyes widened and he shook his head slowly, letting it all settle in before clearing his throat to speak. "Is there anything we can do to get them up quicker?"

"There is," Kuroo tilted his head, adjusting his tie while passing a glance over to Ushijima. "Care to explain?"
Kenma frowned, continuously peering over to check on Hinata, relieved to see him secured in Kageyama's careful arms.

"We need you to yield," Ushijima stated simply, crossing his arms and looking around the room at the other organizations. "We've been shadowing you all this time without complaint. We think it's time for a shift in power."

"How?" Kyoutani challenged sharply from beside Iwaizumi, brows creased. "You've had the spotlight these past few months! You've had all you wanted!"

"Not all," Kuroo corrected, smirking faintly and picking up the small vile on the table again. The vibrant red liquid inside of it fizzed briefly before it returned to a plain, flat cover. "Now that we've taken out some weak spots, it might be easier to get you to agree. Unfortunately," he cast a glare over to Daichi, who stiffened and narrowed his eyes. "Some avoided it."

Bokuto had been thinking two steps ahead, (A/N: shocking isn't it? He's thinking, I'm so proud of him) his concern for Akaashi was almost physically pressing down on his shoulders and it made his heart speed up. "And if we agree? What happens then?"

"Then we have access to everything." Ushijima concluded, briefly looking at Tendou through his peripheral vision as his deputy grinned and lifted his chin pridefully. "And any minute now, the drug could kill them. So, what's your decision?"

Bokuto glanced around at the rest of his cadets to get their input, finding they were all nodding while discreetly gesturing to Akaashi, very clearly worried about him. "Alright," he turned back to Ushijima and Kuroo, sounding exasperated. "Alright, fine. We agree."

Kuroo seemed satisfied, while Lev smiled contentedly and nudged Yaku, muttering something to him and getting a small nod in response. He hummed before turning to Iwaizumi, eyes calm. "And how about you?"

A few cadets opened their mouths to protest before their deputy shushed them with a quick hand gesture, looking as if he were about to say no - though after giving Oikawa another pitiful look, he gave the slightest hint of a nod. They'll pay for this later.

"Good. Then hurry and try to get them conscious~"

Asahi watched the interaction carefully, he could practically sense Iwaizumi's raw frustration from across the room. But he thought it was a very gallant thing to do, giving up a portion of your mafia's power for your leader. He knew he would've done the same for Daichi in a heartbeat.
He took a moment to look around at the rest of his group, his fingers still gently entwined with Noya's. Beside Noya was of course Tanaka, with a sour look on his face per usual whenever he had to interact with people he wasn't too fond of.

Off to the left was Yamaguchi, his hands rested on Suga's shoulder, Hinata was holding onto Kageyama as if his life depended on it, and it appeared everyone else was in check.

Now the objective was just to make it out alive.

"And will you agree?" Ushijima turned to face Daichi, an eyebrow raised and expression holding no emotion.

Daichi looked around at his cadets, more specifically Suga, and frowned inquisitively.
Suga shook his head slightly and kept a hand on his gun, ready to move in a moment's notice as he focused back around them.

Daichi took a breath to steady himself, before meeting Ushijima's eyes and stating a very clear: "No."
The word rang across the room, loud and clear and decisive, and it fell nearly silent.

"That," Kuroo chuckled softly, turning slowly to glare at him. "Was the wrong decision."

"Yamaguchi, get the door!" Tsukki whispered in warning, nudging the boy in the direction of the exit and giving him a concerned look.

"I'll get us out of here, Tsukki!" Yamaguchi nodded and smiled faintly in determination before setting off, trying to squeeze between other groups. By the time he reached the door the panic was starting to get to him, tugging frantically on the door handle only to find it locked.

Kuroo noticed Yamaguchi and the familiar grin surfaced to his face, discreetly loading his gun by his side and keeping his voice even. "I hope you realize your mistake."

Yamaguchi tried picking at the lock at some points, breathing quick with his building anxiety as he tried pulling on it again.
It all happened so suddenly, a loud ring followed by a blinding hot agony in his back, and with a brief cry of pain, his world went black.

And a distance behind him, a raised gun.

"Yamaguchi!"
