Kuroo narrowed his eyes slightly and peered over at Lev, getting a shrug in response from the cadet and smiling grimly as he turned to face Oikawa again.

"Game on."

———

Bokuto sat by the window of the Fukurodani suite, twiddling with his fingers to keep the anxiety from settling too far in.

He glanced over at Akaashi, who was rested on the bed further in the room, chest rising and falling steadily while his black hair drifted over his closed eyes just slightly - making him look loads less intimidating than he really was.

It made Bokuto smile, the duality that some people had.

He stood up and walked over, trying to be as quiet as possible as he leaned down and brushed hair out of Akaashi's face gingerly, grinning. "Feeling better?"

Akaashi let out a small sigh and smiled a little as he recognized Bokuto's voice, blinking his eyes open slightly. "Yeah, I'm alright.."
He abruptly sat up, wincing though frowning in concern. "The rest of the meeting! Were you hurt?"

"Take it easy," Bokuto pulled up a chair and settled down in it, keeping his voice gentle as he reached to hold Akaashi's hands. "We all made it out just fine." His brows arched slightly as a more worried tone entered his speech. "But I was- well, we were all worried about you. We thought we lost you for a minute.."

"You worry too much, Bokuto-san." Akaashi sighed in relief, raising an eyebrow and chuckling under his breath. "It takes a lot more than that to kill me."

———

"Alright, so what are we going to do to get back at Nekoma?" Ennoshita peered expectantly over towards Daichi, who just shook his head slowly and exhaled.

"I haven't come up with a clear idea yet." Daichi murmured, earning a huff from Suga and turning to look at him.
"Well if none of you are going to do something, then I will." The deputy furrowed his brows and pursed his lips slightly. "And I don't care if it kills me, I'm making sure they go through exactly what we are."

"Don't say that," Daichi spoke quickly, crossing his arms as a fresh wave of worry passed over him. "I can't lose you." He cleared his throat upon realizing how that must've sounded, a bit flustered. "We can't lose you."

"Correction, we can't lose you. You can always appoint another second in command, but it's near impossible  to find another leader." Suga frowned, gently shaking Daichi's arm before any trace of warmth dropped from his face and he turned to Asahi and Ennoshita. "Security around Nekoma is tight, so trying to sneak into their suite is out of the question."

"Maybe we try to lure them somewhere. Wherever the leader goes his deputy goes too, so maybe we could try to go for him." Ennoshita suggested, before Asahi shook his head and rejected the idea.

"No, he'd leave anybody valuable back at the suite. Besides, Hinata would be crushed if we killed Kenma." Asahi rested his hands on his hips, biting his lip as if deep in thought. "Do we have any allies?"

"I could reach out to Bokuto," Suga nodded, grinning in satisfaction. "I'm sure they're on the same page as us, good thinking!"
