~ Kaia's POV ~

I wake up sometime later on, and head downstairs to get some food. Maya is awake, and I think she's the only one. She looks at me and her eyes light up.

"Dylan is on the back porch," she says. "He's a wolf, of course, but he's friendly. I gave him some bacon."

I grin at her. "Seriously?"

She gestures with another piece of bacon. "Go look."

I walk over to the door and look outside. He is in fact laying on the back porch, as a wolf, just chilling.

I turn and look at her, not remembering the early morning hours of today. Was I asleep? When did I go to sleep? Ugh, I don't know. So I get some food and sit down, eating at the table with her.

She hums softly as we sit and eat, and then Cassie comes downstairs. Clay isn't long after her. I have to, I can't help it.

"So, you two have fun?" I tease, asking as casually as I can.

"Yep," says Cassie. "We had lots of fun sleeping. Uh, why is there a dog on the back porch?"

"Oh, that's Dylan," I say.

She laughs. "Yeah, well, I think that we should let him in. He looks sad."

I get up and open the door. Dylan looks up at me and trots over, wagging his tail like a dog would. He looks at me and I step aside, letting him in. Dylan lays down on the floor beside my chair and I carefully step around him, and sit.

"Okay, so now that we're all here," Cassie says, "we should try to come up with an idea of what we're going to try next for the curses."

"This is scary," says Maya. "The whole "demons are after us and trying to kidnap us" is just really effed up."

"Yeah well I don't know, but it is kinda weird that they find us wherever we are."

"They're stalking you," Clay teases.

Dylan grumbles.

I smirk at him. "Okay, so maybe not talking about the fact that they could be stalking us would be a good idea."

"Sorry about that," he says. "Anyway, I just think that maybe you guys should stay here with me."

"Would you mind that?" Cassie asks.

"No, not at all. I get so lonely here," he says.

"Are you guys okay with staying here?" asks Cassie.

"I'm fine with it for now," I say.

"Me too," Maya says.

"Okay. Well, I guess we will hide here for a while."
