Janus was always stuck up for by Patton. But Remus concerned him. Every time Patton did something nice, he would frown a little. Did Remus hate Patton. It doesn't make any sense why he would. Him and Patton actually got along quite well. But Janus pushed it from his brain.

Janus paced around the mindscape. "JJ? You alright?" Remus asked. "Of course I am." Janus mocked. "This is not the time. I can tell you're distressed." Remus put his arm around Janus. "Well, Thomas is going to the wedding tomorrow. But I can tell he's quite nervous and second guessing his decision." Janus said. "Ugh. I feel like this is all an over reaction. Going to the wedding is the right decision." Remus tried to comfort. "Is it though? Thomas always gives and gives but never takes any back. It will damage his mental state seeing his friends happy and him not." Janus said. "Why do you even care?" Remus asked. "Because I wish I could still care for Thomas. But I've been replaced by Logan, Roman, and Virgil. They still act like they know nothing and it's infuriating!" Janus started to panic. "Woah. Calm down Jan." Remus was also panicking. Janus was breathing faster. Remus didn't know what to do himself. "I'll go get another side. Please hang in there." Remus said quickly before running away. Janus crumpled to the ground and his mind was racing. He put his arms over his head, wishing and praying for Thomas to be okay.

Patton's pov

"Gah! Can someone help a little here?" Patton heard Remus' voice. "What is it Remus?" Patton asked. "It's J-Deceit. He's panicking a lot and I don't know how to help." Remus panted. "Um okay. Virg? You wanna help?" He asked. "No." Virgil said curtly. Patton turned but Logan and Roman shook their heads. "God damnit you three! Fine." Patton didn't care that he slipped up. He grabbed Remus' arm and sunk down.

They appeared in front of Deceit. Remus felt dizzy from rising up. Patton gasped at the now crying Deceit. "Dee, hey, it's Patton. Your friend." Patton crouched and hugged Deceit. "Sh sh sh. Okay. How does it go? Breathe in for four seconds." Patton tried to remember. Deceit could barely hear him but did it. "Hold for seven." Patton instructed. Deceit did so. "And out for eight. Repeat." Patton held Deceit close. Deceit started to calm down. "Good. Can you look at me?" Patton asked. He held Deceit's chin but let him decide if he wanted to look up. He did. Patton smiled and wiped the tears. The scales still felt weird. He didn't know Deceit could cry out of his snake eye. "Hey hey! Shhh. Again, I'm your friend." Patton almost hesitated on saying friend. Deceit and Patton had grown apart a lot since the last time they were considered friends. But Deceit didn't fight against it.

"H-hey Pat. Why did you come?" Patton was shocked at the question. Did Deceit think that he didn't care about him? "I came because I care about you." Patton hugged Deceit tighter. Patton looked over to Remus and he had his arms crossed. Patton didn't understand the hostility. "I need to go and yell at the others. But I'll always be around when you need me." Patton got up and walked out of sight. But Remus caught up to him. "That's my boyfriend. Got it?" He threatened. Patton's face dropped. But not into fear, into a blank expression. "I'm doing a thing called my job. Do yours and help him." Patton pushed Remus aside and went back to the mind palace.

"What the actual hell you guys!" Patton blew up at the others. They all turned. "I will rip you three limb from limb if you don't tell me why you ignored Deceit!" Patton ordered. The other three stared in shock at Patton. "One of you better answer me right now." Patton a warned. Logan put his hands up and confronted him. "We just didn't see the use in helping a dark side." Patton noticed Virgil flinch at 'dark side'. "Ugh! You guys make me so sick! And I'm truly not liking any of you right now! I'll be in my room! Call me when you decide to stop being idiots!" Payton lectured as he sped to his room.

Patton's room was starting to feel like a prison cell. It didn't feel warm or nice at all. He felt like he was confined there when he needed to calm down. Like some psych ward or something. So he didn't blow up at anyone. He just wanted them to understand. Deceit wasn't bad. If only they were around to see him in the early years. And Deceit himself has given up. Only Patton could do this. But he couldn't do it by himself. But that was how it was going.

Janus' pov

"Thanks, Re. I love you." Janus smiled. Remus rolled his eyes. "Whatever. You feeling better?" He asked. Janus nodded. "Patton helped a lot." Janus said. Remus seemed to stop at that. "But you seemed to do something that no others can." Janus tried to fix his sentence. Remus nodded happily. Janus sighed. What was he supposed to do?

(Hey! Sorry. I didn't mean for the demus part to get kinda into toxic relationship territory. It wasn't my intention. Just for Remus to be protective. In a cute and sad way. Because he's been alone most of his life-anyway! Just had to point that out. Sorry my publishing had been a bit slow.)
